Update 12/24/24:

Apparently, this place is so popular that people wait outside before it opens. I came here after work to pick up an order. I also bought some breakfast items. In total, I got spiced apple cruffin, monkey bread, almond croissant plain, chocolate gateau basque slice, bahia cake, and macarons.

-spiced apple cruffin 5 - very enjoyable to eat. Once you bite inside, you’ll be welcomed to caramelized apple butter and vanilla cream cheese oozing out. The outer layer has a good flaky texture. -monkey bread 5 - not too sweet. Cinnamon flavor is not overpowering. It’s a clean treat, not too sticky. -almond croissant plain 5 - my personal favorite and I heard this one sells out. I like the almond filling. You may need a napkin to eat it because of the powder. -chocolate gateau basque slice 5 - crumbly texture but firm where it needs to be. No dryness. Rich chocolate taste. -Bahia cake 5 - not overly sweet. You get the sweetness from the mango and tartness from the passion fruit. The Banana helps even out the flavor. Crust has a nice crunch every time you take a bite.

It was my first time coming to this pastry shop. It’s by the AMC movie theater on the left side close to MOD pizza. All of the employees were amiable and helpful. They do provide free samples but don’t be too greedy about it. We did a sample of the pumpkin cheesecake. It was palatable with a nice crunch at the bottom. Prices are a little expensive but the quality is high.

-chocolate croissant 4/5 - it was good but it could use more chocolate filling. Too much of the croissant to filling ratio. -vanilla filled cruffin 5/5 - breading and filling ratio was perfect. Cream was very smooth, not sweet. -ham and cheese croissant 5/5 - very tasty snack or light breakfast. Croissant was light and crisp. -bahia 5/5 - smooth mango flavor. Very light snack. -peanut caramel bar 5/5 - not too sweet. Good brunch at the bottom. -pumpkin pie cheesecake 5/5 - one slice is definitely not enough. Creamy, flavorful, and the crust at the bottom has the...

Tres bien Chef Jerome. We lived in France for almost 4 years and unlike here, finding legit croissants is near impossible. And trust me, we've tried. A la Folie makes the most legit French pastries in the suburbs hands down. The pain au chocolat (aka chocolate croissants) are equally as good with high quality semi sweet chocolate. You know a croissants is great when 1) the surface has a slight crunch through the flaky exterior, 2) it smells overwhelmingly like butter, 3) there's a buttery residue on your fingers while and after eating, and 4) there is a flaky mess everywhere after you're done. A la Folie delivers that experience.

The macarons are delicious... on par with La Duree or Pierre Herman. Great flavors and texture is perfect. Only missing Rose.

Most importantly, shout out to Morgan who was insane friendly and exemplified amazing customer service. She seemed genuinely happy to be working there.

Good thing there's a rewards program because we'll be back. Only improvement could be on price (a little)... unless you're bringing ingredients in from France.

Bon chance et felicitations on...

Lemon Tart: Delicate with a sharp tart flavor. The base cookie and merengue were superb. The merengue lasted seconds but it made a statement, – light, delicate, airy, and heavenly sweet. The lemon portion was highly sharp and yet so creamy. I won’t buy it again because it was too tart for me. It might not be to others. Give it a try. I loved the cookie and I would buy these, if possible, to enjoy with hot tea.

Macaroons: Passion fruit macaroons are THE best. Superb! Excellent balance of flavor, sweetness, and texture. I strongly recommend these. It’s like France visited Puerto Rico (or viceversa) but they sealed the deal in Naperville. 😋

OCOA: A chocoholic friend noticed 3 different ways that chocolate was used. He tasted coffee. He loved it but he couldn’t finish, so it’s perfectly portioned for two.

They carefully crafted these delicate desserts with high quality ingredients. The packaging is beautiful. The female staff was really pleasant to talk to. She answered questions with a smile. She was truly nice.

I wished they had a small...

Amazing pastries and wonderful service! Ocoa: 4/5, super rich dark chocolate flavor. Almost too much, even for a dark chocolate lover. Would be amazing if it was mixed with a tart fruit like raspberry or orange. Still very tasty. Bahia: 3.5/5, vanilla mousse was good but overpowered the other flavors. The filling is so delicious, but I wish it had more of that tartness overall. Lemon tart: 5/5, amazing. Perfect tart flavor and the crust is great. No notes. My favorite. Raspberry Rose Lychee: 5/5, also amazing. The rose flavor is very light, which I was grateful for because I'm not a huge fan, but the raspberry really came through and the cream was so decadent. A little messy to eat, but my 2nd favorite overall. Paris-Brest: 4.5/5, delicious. Light sweetness, with a wonderful chocolate flavor. The layer on top added a delightful crunch to it. Yummy. Overall, this was my first experience with trying pastries like this, and it was wonderful! I'll be delighted to come back and try their baked goods next. ❤️
