If you've ever been to italia... this is by far the most authentic or closest to resemble that great Napolitano style pizza. Yes, you heard that right. When it comes to authentic Italian pizza, Mod Pizza is the only pizzeria worth the money for reasons many would not understand unless you've visited or lived there like I have for 5yrs. First, because that's how pizza is served, you get a plate of your own pizza just the way you want it with only the ingredients that you want on it and Mod has a pretty good selection of toppings to boot. Second, it's quick! Well depending on the crowd, a pizza cooked in a real pizza oven should take no longer than 4 to 5 minutes to cook and be in front of you in 5 minutes max as I mentioned, depends on the crowd and for us, the staff at Mod has not disappointed us thus far. Lastly I'd like everyone to know that if you're a fan of super large pizzas that is caked full of dough and cheese along with multiple toppings etc., this pizza is not for you, but, I hope you give it a try. Like I said this is close to authentic Napolitano style pizza, almost exactly from where it began in a little town called Bagnoli, a quaint little mafia villagio hidden away from the city, and for good reason. This was considered peasant food so it didn't take a lot to make one and you could feed a family easily without breaking the bank. And for those who think after reading this review that I must be crazy, no way possible, a whole pizza for yourself? Yes, it's thin crust and not chocked full of toppings, at least not unless you want it that way then you might be boxing it for the road. So word to the wise... Keep it simple, it's better that way and better for...
Read moreDidn't like the customer service at all. That tall dude with the red cap was very rude and I feel like he shouldn't be in the front making the pizza or doing the toppings.
He really showed us how he hates his job and how insulting he sounded towards the customers.
It was my friend, my husband and 3 kids with us. My friends first language isn't English so I had to relay stuff to the person taking our order. Everytime I had to make my orders right he would turn on the side and would make a face of burden. He shoud find another job coz he clearly hates his job. He forgot that his job is to deal with customers. If the customers are too much I could understand but we were nothing but kind and patient.
The part which got me really irritated was when he made a comment about the anchovies that my friend would want to add on there. He was telling his workmates how much he hates it and was telling me I would never eat it. Like okay Sharuk you can eat whatever you want but please refrain from making rude comments when the paying customers are present! Ya'll can talk after we leave of how much you hate your job and how much you hate anchovies!!!!
Anyways! My friend told me after that she would rather order online that physically coming back. We really loved the pizza but that guy needs to go work on dishes than being the front line of a business. He is not good for business at all! Customer service needs to improve and also maybe they can wear mouth mask while preparing the food coz they talk a lot in front of where the...
Read moreI ordered online, a simple order 1 mod 2 mini mods 1 soft drink and a bottled soda. This store was not busy at all, no and there were no lines when I was there. I went in to pick the order up, and was approached by a red headed woman, who then told me the order was not ready and would need to be made. These should have been done before I even went to the counter for pick up at my allotted pick up time. Then she walked away. I stood there for 5 mins and another worker came by with a beard and asked me what I was waiting for and I let him know, and he proceeded to help me. I don't know what the issue was with the woman, but me standing there waiting and her being unapologetic in walking away and even saying that the food wasn't ready, is not cool. If you don't get why i'm irritated, the pizzas are thin, so they cool down fast. Also, walking away unapologetically from a paying customer and then ignoring them not saying a word after they tell you the right name of the order, and basically stating that the order wasn't ready, only to find out that the food was ready, is just bad communication and customer service. It was cold and ready. Anyways, the downtown Naperville location seems a bit more kinder in terms of mess ups and stuff, and I cannot recommend going here, unless you want to be frustrated by lack of care and a few...
