Me and my family have come here three times in the past two months. The first time was for my sisters birthday and we didn’t order much and arrived at a decent time. One lady told us we could order more naan later so we didn’t get too much at once without seeing the amount of food. When the food arrived the waitress had her thumbs in the food with the way she carried it by hand and not on a tray. When we asked for more naan they said we couldn’t and looked annoyed but did it anyway. And no one wore a mask even though the sign said to in the kitchen. No gloves and no safety precautions and the tables were stained with food and not cleaned properly. I didn’t mind ALL of that as the food was really really good considering everything. The next time we decided to order it to go so no one but the cooks would touch the food but they were half an hour late with no safety precautions still and they took down the mask sign. Still okay and didn’t want to complain, the food was still very good except they didn’t have one food and had to substitute it and wouldn’t give us anything unless the price matched even though it was their fault they didn’t have the food. Third time today we decided to order and that is the last time I will come here. They didn’t have food so I said they could substitute it but I didn’t want onions and that was an easy request. Just don’t add it. We arrive and the food is not ready. Then another waitress asks us and goes back and it’s not ready. Then another asks and goes back to tell us they just started and it will be out… it’s been over an hour at this point. They then ask us if we still want the food because they couldn’t remove the onions… they just forgot and didn’t want to make it again. We decide to take the TWO items we had anyway and just leave. It was terrible service and at one point in the half hour we actually stayed in the building we saw one waitress cough into food (I’m sure not on purpose) but I would not recommend this place if you are worried about your health and time. If you just want good food and a waste of time then this is the...
Read moreI have frequented this restaurant on more than four occasions, and unfortunately, a disheartening pattern has emerged that compels me to share my disappointment. Despite the remarkable food quality, stellar customer service, and impeccable cleanliness maintained by the hardworking staff, the consistent lack of involvement from the restaurant manager is an issue that cannot be overlooked.
During each of our visits, even during peak hours, the manager, his name is Antony, not sure he is wearing black shirt all the times, was consistently observed sitting idle, merely delegating tasks to the already industrious staff. This repeated negligence of hands-on management during busy times raises concerns about the commitment and dedication of the managerial team.
In a dining establishment, especially during bustling periods, one expects the manager to lead by example, actively participating in the operational tasks to ensure a seamlessly functioning team. It is disconcerting to witness the manager's nonchalant attitude while the rest of the team works diligently to maintain the restaurant's standards.
As a loyal customer who values the overall experience, I urge the management to address this issue promptly. The exceptional efforts of the hardworking staff deserve to be complemented by an equally engaged and proactive managerial presence. I sincerely hope that this feedback is taken seriously to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
Despite this concern, I must emphasize that the restaurant's other aspects, including the food quality, customer service, and cleanliness, have consistently been praiseworthy. It is my genuine desire to see this establishment thrive, and addressing this managerial issue will undoubtedly contribute to...
Read moreDeecan Spice has been my primary restaurant of choice for Indian cuisine for the better part of a decade as I love how they are more of a traditional Indian restaurant that does not cater too much to the westerner. With that said, as the other commenters from my party have stated, their lack of transparency and dishonesty with their pricing and gratuity has unfortunately destroyed my perception of what was once was a reputable business.
First, the pricing on the menu was out of date and we were not notified of this. Meaning, the business could at any time charge an imaginary number that the customer would be responsible to pay. This is poor transparency and quite frankly an unethical business practice. If prices on the menu did not reflect the price we would be charged, each of us should have been made aware of this change in pricing.
Secondly, our group of 10 or so people paid as separate groups and each gave a 20% tip. What none of us were made aware of is that a 20% gratuity was charged on our collective tab. Meaning we each tipped 40%, making our meal almost 50% more expensive, in addition to the out of date pricing from the menu.
While the food and service met expectations, the pricing and dishonesty we received is something that may have permanently altered the relationship I have with the restaurant, in a negative light.
I hope the restaurant takes these reviews sincerely and alters to their approach to business. Business is not about getting ahead on somebody. When a business takes care of people, profits will follow. However, when you attempt to gouge customers, operate unethically, and lack respect for the individual, it will result in your once loyal clientele...
