I'm going to take back my 4 stars and my original review. I used to like eating here but after today I won't be going back. I usually dine in when I go, but today I didn't feel like driving. Even though I live across the street. So today I decided to order for delivery, and it was my first time using Door Dash for delivery. I had my order ready and everything but something didn't seem right so I called the restaurant telling them that on the app when I placed the order the '2 taco combo' was coming up as free. I told the woman on the line from the restaurant what I was seeing that and I wasn't sure if it was because I was getting a promo or if there was something wrong. She didn't say anything was wrong and told me to go ahead and place my order so I did. Few minutes later I call again to confirm that they received my order. She said they did, she repeats my order back and then she says we just have to call DoorDash to confirm something that happened on their end. So I said okay. Come close to the time the order is supposed to be delivered, someone else calls, this time a guy. But now he's asking me to pay them more, which I ended up doing, even though a mistake was made on their end, and they didn't discount me for any of the inconvenience or hassle! Despite the fact that I did my part to confirm and make them aware prior to ordering to avoid any problems! But no the mess up and inconvenience me and wait even longer for my food! And not to mention they made the driver wait 10 minutes for the order AND THEY forgot the drink, so the driver had to go back get that and then come back! Needless to say, Taco Madre in Naperville is NOT doing a good job! My original review: I love the Shrimp tacos, I always get them! But they're always switching up, I like consistency. Definitely miss the...
Read moreWorst customer service I have ever experienced!! And this was from their supposed manager? They need to reconsider who they have managing up front ! Drove 25 minutes for some tacos and I ordered over the phone, spoke with a nice gentleman!(he knew customer service) I specifically asked for no onion on my tacos and once arriving home I was very disappointed to see they had onions ! I decided to call since I did pay for the food it wasn't free and neither was the drive ! This time a lady answered or a young girl, once letting her know my order was wrong she became instantly rude, she stated I was wrong and I didn't order correctly so I asked her to put the gentleman on the phone so he could clarify my order but she refused and was still very rude ! I asked to speak with the manager because we were not getting anywhere and she stated I could come back and bring the food, I told her she has got to be joking, I had just left work and was not going to drive 25 minutes back and 25 to get home again I offered to take pictures to take back when I go again and she insisted that was not an option, I told her she needs to work on her customer service if she's the manager and she kept trying to get the last word in a very rude way as if I was trying to even argue with her. I was simply a PAYING customer who wasn't satisfied because the restaurant made my order incorrectly and I drove to their location and called to get a solution or credit and the manager who refused to give me her name couldn't simply do her job or give great customer service to someone they just got their order wrong. Very disappointed and do...
Read moreNot even sure where to begin with my disappointment today with Taco Madre in Naperville. I guess it is to say that it was enough to inspire me to write this review. My girlfriend informed me that the female behind the counter today was very unhelpful and rude when my girlfriend asked her to help locate a dish that a friend of ours had raved about. Secondly, they did not separate our different taco orders, so when we opened the to-go container at home, it was a giant taco salad. The tacos are decent, but with Aurora not too far away that has a myriad of authentic taco joints, we have had much better and for a fraction of the cost. The pork tamales we received were overcooked; I am just not a fan of crispy tamales. Luckily they are so big that there was plenty of not overdone parts to be enjoyed. They tasted great other than the overdone part. Perhaps that is the reason the food took so long to prepare, as the wait time for the food was a little on the longer side. Overall, I am sure our experience is an anomaly, but think it needs to be noted, especially when there are tons of authentic and less expensive Mexican restaurants in the vicinity. I cannot say we would not give it a second chance (never experienced such disappointment at the North Aurora location) and I understand we all have bad days, but really recommend customer service training for their front line staff as that initial interaction sets such a negative tone for...
