We went there today. The set up is really nice, but the experience was the worst out of the 6 escape rooms I have been in. We were schedule to start the escape room at 2:20. The only worker there arrived at 2:20 and things were not set up. The wrong thing was on the computer screens. Atmosphere was nice, but our host was not prepared at all. I felt like I wasted my money. The worker did not even explain things to us. Just told us to read the screen and start. In other places the workers were enthusiastic and talked to us before and after. Set up is amazing, customer service and being prepared was not that great.
In reply the owners response: If I am lying why is that Sandy Goff, who I do not know, also had the same bad experience. Attached is a picture of the time that I had to call you because you were late to work. Our game started late. We were sitting around waiting for you to run back and forth. We had to ask you to wear a mask. My review was 100% honest based on our experience. You were the least enthusiastic host at the very beginning and did not ask what we thought of it at the end. The problem is not that we did not solve it or you did not give us hints during. You did give us hints when we asked during. You were unorganized because you had the wrong thing on six computer screens. That should not happen. Take responsibility for your mistakes. You were so busy setting up at the beginning you were to rushed to properly greet us and set up things correctly as they do at the escape room in Bolingbrook, Forest Park, and Fox in a Box in the city. I really think your atmosphere was awesome. The customer service and you not having all the clues properly set up (computer screens) created the worst experience compared to the other six rooms I have been to. Accept it and get better because the prison set up is awesome. If I was trying to only put a negative statement about my experience, I would not state your prison set up...
Read moreOverall this was the worst escape room I've ever done. We were made to feel like an imposition to the worker. We showed up aprox. 10 minutes early for our appointment we were informed via ring cam that he'd be there in 5. We were then informed that we were the only booking for the entire day - Funny because they upcharge you for the privilege of being there on a Saturday. We were then told to read the instructions and were allowed to enter the room. The room was not immersive or interesting. It was an empty office room with cheap paint some added 'roof shingles' for effect all of the puzzles and clues were obvious boxes mounted at chest height around the room. The puzzles were nonsensical not on theme and some seemed to have no clues at all to lead you to them. About 20 minutes in we could hear the worker vacuuming outside - that really added to the experience. Then there was the 5 minutes the tablet timer was malfunctioning and just showing a standard tablet screen.
Again I need to point out the theming and puzzles were trash. We were supposed to be in a "witches hut" but since they couldn't be bothered to actually put any thought into the story you were just bumbling around a 10 by 10 repurposed office space with a torn up antique radio.
The most interaction we had with the guy was when the experience was over "You should have used more hints" ...you should have built a room that functioned properly. I wish I could get my time and money back. Please please don't waste yours like I...
Read moreWe did the prison escape. The room looked great and we had high hopes and excitement for the room. One of our friends had recommended this place after they did the witches room. The black light provided for us had very little battery and kept shutting off and the light wasn't strong enough for us to see the clues needed to escape. It took us a few minutes to figure out it was a battery issue, so we alerted our Gamemaster. When he came to exchange the battery, he kept the clock going when we were waiting and when he was changing the battery. Then the locks were all in the wrong place, so our clues did not make sense. We wasted a clue and several minutes figuring out how to get one of the locks unlocked before we asked for another clue where the game master finally figured out they did not put the locks on the correct lockers. It just felt very disorganized and really took the immersive experience out of it. Even though the mistakes made with the room set up cost us so much time, we were only given 5 extra minutes at the end to figure out the puzzle. We did not escape, which is fine, because we do these rooms for fun, but we did not have fun during...
