1230 Ocean Bistro — Restaurant in Narragansett

We loved this restaurant as the Hammerhead Grill and we were sad to discover it was no longer, however 1230 Ocean Bistro didn't disappoint! We can't wait to go back! My only regret is that I didn't take photos of our meals to show how beautiful they were. Worth every penny!

Our waiter Romanuel, was helpful and friendly and provided excellent service. For our appetizer, we ordered the calamari, which included both rings and tentacles. It was wonderful . My entree, the baked seafood plate was delicious and piping hot. It had about 5 sea scallops, stuffed sole and several baked stuffed shrimp. My husband's was the seafood scampi and he loved it as well. My son ordered the Sundried tomato penne and it was a gorgeous presentation and he raved about how flavorful it a was! As far as vegetarian entrees go, he said it was by far the best he's found at any restaurant.

One more thing, the drinks here are super reasonable! Edit: we enjoyed it so much last night, we went back tonight, our last night in Narragansett. Equally delicious meal and drinks and we were waited on by a delightful waitress named Elisabeth. I had the broiled scallop dinner, which was perfectly scrumptious. My husband had the fish and chips, which was perfectly prepared, and once again my son ordered the beautiful Sundried tomato penne and this time I tried it. It was fantastic. Honestly one of the worst experiences dinning. And it’s super unfortunate because we really thought it was going to be a great experience. The alcoholic drinks were watered down completely! No an ounce of liquor and over priced!! Do not get any pasta! It was trash, the pasta was hard , the chicken was tasteless and soggy, and the broccoli was extremely hard! The burger was dry and burnt . Also when we asked for a water refill apparently they ran out of cups so we had to give our cups back to the server. Preface: Our experience was during July 4th when there wasn’t as much open as usual. Unfortunately dining here was a little less than unpleasant. The food we ordered tasted of fry oil and the portion of the salad I chose was comically small for an entree. Prices reflected the location but not the quality nor quantity of food.
