Site claims to be open for lunch 11:30 to 3PM. We had a half price gift cert. from the Rhode Show. Arrived just after 1PM into the hotel lobby with absolutely no one around and an empty dining room. Without looking around and reading very small printed signs you would not know that the upstairs lounge is on the 4th floor and the only thing open. Small bar there and limited inside tables with more seating on the outside patio. I would guess there were about 10 people there total. Told to seat ourselves and chose a table inside as there were none outside available with an umbrella and temps in the 90's. Beautiful view from out there though. After drink orders waitress returned and we ordered app and entrees. Just after 2:00 we received our app, Avocado Toast. 2 pieces of very lightly almost non toasted white Italian bread cut in half with a cold green paste on each tossed onto a tin tray. Not normally big on presentation of my food but his was just like a kid made it for parents. The long wait was explained that the ticket got lost. Lost with only 8 other guests there??? Main course arrives--- Twin Lobster Rolls- which is one slightly larger than a hot dog bun cut in half with some lobster in each. And mine was the Reuben -- white bread with ONE piece of corned beef inside with no sauerkraut but what looked like a coleslaw. I didn't see any thousand island dressing, but did see some melted cheese. And we both got a VERY large amount of potato chips on our trays along with our food. Not the house made chips listed on the menu but plain old potato chips. And by the looks they were from the bottom of the bag--many small broken pieces. When we asked about the absence of the house made chips the waitress informed us they had run out. Run out?? Lunch started at 11:30 and there was only a handful of customers there, ran out where?? Will NEVER return and I'm not sure where the people who give this place high marks have eaten in the past or unless the main dining is something great( i doubt it) you folks don't have a clue, this...
Read moreI visited Chair 5 on Sunday evening, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was extremely poor, and our waitress gave the impression that she simply didn’t care about us as guests.
It took 20 minutes after being seated for her to take our drink order, and another 20 minutes after that to actually receive the drinks. Although water was provided when we sat down, our glasses were never refilled throughout the entire meal.
Once we finally received our drinks, we placed our food order and then waited another 45 minutes for the dishes to arrive. During that time, our waitress never checked on us—not once—to see if we needed anything or wanted additional drinks. We didn’t bother ordering more, knowing it would likely take another hour.
When the food was eventually brought to the table, she dropped everything off and walked away without providing napkins, utensils, or basic condiments like salt and pepper. We had to flag down another waiter, who was clearly very busy yet went out of his way to help us. He was attentive, apologetic, and made sure we had what we needed—even assisting us again later when we needed the check.
By contrast, our own waitress never apologized for the delays or lack of service. After learning that we had voiced a complaint, she became openly rude for the remainder of our visit. She neither apologized nor thanked us when we left, which solidified our decision not to return.
We were told afterward that she might be relatively new, but what we witnessed wasn’t inexperience—it was rudeness and unprofessionalism. She showed no concern for her job, no respect for her customers, and no awareness of how her behavior reflected on the restaurant. For these reasons, we will not be back. For privacy’s sake, I will not mention her name, but I will say this: she was blonde, arrogant,...
Read more2 Star dining. Hotel is beautiful, hostess was very friendly. For Sunday evening dining in south county I assumed the restaurant would be empty and It was, so i assumed we would get 5 star service we did not. As soon as we sat down the server let us know that since we sat so far away from the bar she might forget about us. We were a table of 4 and first thing i let the server know we were there to celebrate a birthday and told her who's birthday it was. We ordered off the early bird menu since we were told the regular menu was not available until 6pm. She was somewhat knowledgeable about some items but did not know about some specials i.e. the flatbread. We ordered, wine came then salads came before the appetizers by a different server. I had the shrimp cocktail..1st shrimp was tasty yet soggy, 2nd tasted like dirty feet. That ruined it right there. Calamari was absolutely delicious I would highly recommend the calamari. My favorite dish is on their menu so that's what I ordered. Chicken Francaise. The sauce was missing, the pasta was very dry. That dish should be swimming in the sauce. It was by far subpar. I would assume since I ordered off the early bird menu some things would be subpar, however the missing sauce was very disappointing. Dessert came and it looked as if the raspberry sauce was thrown on the cheesecake...I only wished they were that giving with the francaise sauce! It was sad the server never put a candle in the Birthday girls dessert when she knew... the bartender/server seemed overwhelmed and the restaurant was dead. Service and quality of prepared meals did not match the new...
