Disappointed...my husband and I were given a gift certificate and made the 40 minute trip for $12.99 12oz sirloin advertised online. Upon arrival, we found out that not only were they out of steak, but the price had changed to $18.99. We opted for a half rack of ribs and a taco basket instead. My husband ate about 4 bites and asked for a box. The rib meat was mushy and not well flavored. The fries were okay but the cole slaw was weak. Corn bread was crusty/stale and he had to ask three times for butter, and the waitress claimed to only be able to find one small butter square. My soft tacos consisted of 3 small tortillas dropped on a plate, with a small scoop of unseasoned beef in each. The shredded cheese, tomatoes and lettuce were all on the side/falling out of the basket. We shared an order of stuffies as well, which were small but not terrible. I had the pleasure of working for the owners on occasion because we had a good repor. This is a nice place to go blow off some steam after work. The food is more than satisfactory when nearby resturaunts are too crowded or too pricy. I may not be impartial but the fact remains I have always walked away happier than when I came in. And they sign very talented musicians who have good reputations in the community and in others. I typically went in more often in the winter before I changed my routine and couldnt go anymore. Horrible wait time, food, drink and atmosphere. Tried this place a several times over the past few years and never had a positive experience. I never review the places that I go to but this one needed a mention so that others can make better decisions. There are so many other choices in South County. Mariner, Arturo's, Mews, Tavern on Main, Two Ten Oyster Bar, Dragon Palace, George's, Jimmy's Portside, Captain Jacks, Foggys, etc.to name just a few. Stay clear of Ponchos. Owner needs to spend some money sprucing the place up and focus on better customer service and serving quality food and drinks to it's patrons rather than the garbage it currently...
