So me and my daughter went in for lunch today and asked for a booth.. mind you they were not busy at all. The greeter said she would clean a booth for us but she walked around picking up butter and acting like we were not waiting.. She took her sweet time to even begin to clean a booth. Talking to other folks and just looking dazed like your typical blonde. After 15 minutes we just walked out and went to Poncho omalleys where they have the best buffalo chicken wings on earth.. lost two customers because of that snobby waitress and I will never patronize this place again. Honestly I think it was because we were two black women so she treated us like that. It was 11am on sept 24. Your greeter was a whole mess and I hope she sees this. I know when I’m being treated unfairly.. she is a miserable you know what! Never returning. Food is not that great anyway.. unseasoned and bland. Only went to grab something because I had to grab buns from the market! If you’re a person of color I wouldn’t even patronize this place. To your response, no I’m not assured that my experience wasn’t rooted in discrimination because that is just how she made us feel while ignoring us and how would you know it wasn’t!!! That’s ridiculous to even say you can assure me that that wasn’t the case. Until you walk in this here woman of colors shoes, you shouldn’t even fix your mouth to say you can assure me.. especially since you’ve never experienced it I’m quite sure. Matter of fact why don’t you go check your cameras on the day and time I mentioned and see exactly what happened and why we felt the way we did and left. Go have a look at that pathetic excuse of an employee who just made you lose customers. ...
Read moreThis was our 2nd visit here. Thought we’d give it another chance because our 1st visit didn’t live up to the hype. Checked in 11:19, table for 4, got the ready notice 12:13. Lots of people waiting for a table when we walked to ours. Text alert when your table is ready is nice. Atmosphere is artsy and modern and booths have lots of room. The service was mediocre (same as the first visit), waitress was pleasant but pretty much a ghost after taking our order (same as the first visit) Waited well over an hour for the food to come out. Their cinnamon maple butter for the pancakes is delicious, ask for extra. Coffee is good but the Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa have the faintest hint of alcohol so I wouldn’t bother. This hasn’t been the worst experience but just can’t figure out what all the hype is about. Overall, food is good and plenty options to choose from I just didn’t think it’s worth the wait. Give them a try if you like breakfast. Maybe we just caught them on 2 bad days out...

But only when it comes to the food. Classic American Diner fare - served up hot and fast.
But au contraire -
“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”
Let’s start with the Pumpkin Coffee - served in an orange, hand-thrown mug no less. Super cool touch and thrilled this All Hallows’ Eve aficionado.
The restaurant itself is spacious and accommodating - with a hint of artistry (yes you can buy the paintings) but still old school digs.
I have saved the best for last - the service.
Each individual with which I have had the pleasure to meet was gracious and - dare I use the archaic? - just downright sweet. Well done Mary, Meagan, and Mackenzie!
When next I am in Rhode Island (Native Southern Californian here) I will definitely return - and if you have not visited, then it is high-time you did … you will not be...
