Edit: The owner here is so great at taking feedback and he is so friendly. Everything I mentioned in this review has only improved and I am so impressed!
Original review: This place has only been open for 2 months, but they are definitely on the right track.
Their tea and bagels are phenomenal. The tea is high quality, loose leaf and tastes amazing. Their bagels are chewy and delicious and worthwhile all on their own. I had a Chai Latte (pictured, blue cup) that was perfectly spiced and beautifully presented. I also got a London Fog to go that was bright, flavorful, and so well balanced.
Their menu is very limited and the owner specified that he's experimenting with where his ingredients are sourced from at the moment, so I expect it may expand some in the future. The food was very high quality, though. I had the avocado toast, which comes with a choice of bread, avocado topped with some kind of red pepper flake spice blend, tomato and pickled onions. I replaced the tomato with bacon because I don't generally like tomato, but ended up feeling like the tomato might have been a better flavor combination, so I'd recommend trying it as is. Unfortunately, this ended up being a bit too acidic for me and I started to get heartburn halfway through. No fault of theirs, just a heads up for those with sensitive stomachs. I decided on an everything bagel with plain cream cheese and that was phenomenal. I'm hoping that they'll add more cream cheese flavors in the future, or even just add the option for an herb blend mix in.
My partner got a cortado (pictured, heart foam) that was well made and an Americano to go. He has a preference for dark roasts, a more bitter coffee flavor, and blends over single source beans, so he found their coffee to be too bright and was disappointed at the lack of selection for his tastes, but we acknowledge the skill and craftsmanship and recency of opening and hope that selection will improve as time goes by.
He also got a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel and was excited that the sandwich came standard with Sriracha mayo and was delighted that it was grilled and panini pressed. It seemed like there were two kinds of cheese on the sandwich and one came through the preparation process cold, which seemed like a deliberate choice, but was a little off-putting in a hot sandwich. The ingredients and execution were clearly chosen with care and it seemed they were going for a high quality, upscale feel. The Sriracha mayo was very tame, likely to please a New England palate. Personally, more Sriracha would have been welcome, but we understand the audience they're working with.
The location was clean and well cared for, but disappointingly I saw a lot of fruit flies on the upper part of the wall behind the barista/register and was repeatedly bothered by them during our meal. That's pretty noticeable in December and I hope they'll deal with that problem quickly. EDIT: I returned after 3 weeks and found the fruit fly problem dealt with! Raised the star levels in response and happy to see such quick action taken.
I thought the board with coffee-related dad jokes was a great touch and I hope to see more decor soon because the inside had a rather sterile feel. But again, they've only just opened, so I expect that's somewhere on their to do list. I'd also love to see outlets near the tables. I didn't notice any and that feels like a modern must-have. They had some Barista magazines and coffee-related reading available, which added a touch of cozy that I appreciated.
Overall, I'd recommend Coffee and Kindness and I...
Read moreI wanted to find a new coffee shop to try and have seen this one online in Nashua, NH. We drove the hour and a half to visit here and was not disappointed. The coffee shop was on a streer with some other little shops. We could see their sign hanging as we drove in and were able to find parking on the street nearby. They had a sign outdoors as well with a cute little inspiration hand written on it was some table and chairs for outdoor seating. The inside was just as cute. The shop was fairly busy on the day we went. The staff was very pleasant and greeted us while they were busily making drinks for other customers. When it was our turn, we ordered our drinks. We ordered a matcha latte and a cappuccino, in which I specifically asked if they could do coffee art for us. They responded they could, and we ordered an Avocado blt sandwich, a pumpkin loaf, and an espresso Brownie. When they said our order was ready, I was so excited to see the beautiful art that they created for us. The drinks and food were so good and we left feeling refreshed. If you haven't tried them yet, please do, and you will love them as...
Read morePretty severely disappointed in this place the last 5 or 6 times I’ve been inside. Between gossiping employees that don’t acknowledge your existence to being randomly closed during business hours to shrinking their food menu to being completely out of literally everything they sell for food…. which is only like 4 things. “We’re actually out of bacon, eggs, cheese, and waffle mix.” I’ve been in twice where someone in line had ordered the chicken salad and they were out on both occasions. The last time I grabbed food from here last week it was their banana muffin. It was Saturday and the muffin was already 4 days old and it was clear it was a box mix. What happened to fresh baked goods? What happened to avocado toast? What happened to the owner actually running the business and caring about it?
This place used to be nice and now it seems like the owner has lost the plot. Why would I (or anyone else) want to go to a place to sit and work or journal or read or literally anything if the choices are… water and coffee. It’s sad this place has gone downhill so quickly in the...
