Unfortunately, this was probably the worst bagel/ coffee shop experience I've been through. Latte machine was broken ... OK we own a grill life happens for sure. Pure chaos in the kitchen with the 6 young people working? The 2 girls up front were clearly stressed, We switched gears and ordered regular black coffees 1 large 1 small, well..... lol they were out of coffee and would have to make a pot... ok.... bagels came mine wasn't bad, my wife's was tuff so we shared mine and we didn't get to enjoy coffee with them but got them as we left, the large had a hot cup sleeve, the small didn't? So my wife got to juggle that on the way to the car.... Coffee was absolutely bitter, so I can't with clear conscious recommend spending hard earned money there when there are lots of bagel places in the neighborhood. As buisness owners in a related CUSTOMER SERVICE based industry for 30 plus years it's interesting that you chose to berate your customer and put your customer service failure on the customer's you serve instead of using it as a teachable moment for your staff... it's even more interesting that you didn't address the not so good quality of your food and coffee that day... it speaks volumes to buisness owners around you and your community.. bad days " very tough days" come with the territory it's how we handle them that defines the future of a business and it's customer base. chastising a customer instead of posing a very simple question **how can i make this better for you ?** or even just an ** I'm sorry we failed to make our usual standards*** ( making it clear you have none)would have went far. Instead you chose chastising... we will absolutely enjoy the many other options around you and absolutely make sure folks know they don't really matter at your establishment. I've always been firm and fair in my reviews for years as it helps us all know what and where our hard earned money can be spent with confidence With over 850k views and thumbs up

This is an incredibly delicious bagel for being so far away from NYC. The crust isn't quite as chewy and they are a bit smaller than what you'd expect, but are very delicious. I had the rosemary bagel with possibly the best vegan sausage and vegan plain schmear I've experienced eating out. While the flavor and textures were near perfect, you do pay a hefty tax for having an allergy to dairy or caring about animals/environment. The tax is even more substantial if you buy a latte or cortado. It's a flat $1 tax on oat or almond milk, even for 3oz. The hack I found is ordering an iced espresso or iced coffee and using the oat milk at the sugar/cream station to make your own. While I know the practice is still common, it's discouraging to see Starbucks as a more welcoming space for vegans and communities who don't digest cow's milk. The irony of a pitcher of free oat milk at the sugar/cream station shows it's not about price differences. I'm sure some flavors and supplies for different bagels have different costs for the business, but they are the same price. Anyway, aside from the vegan tax, their bagels are delicious.

At the risk of my favorite bagels becoming harder to acquire, Crieve Hall Bagel Co. Is everything that is great about small businesses in America - passionate, authentic and consistent. The room feels like a neighborhood hang out, with a welcoming vibe and great music. The staff is outgoing, efficient and great at communicating. The bagels, baked goods and coffees are top notch and consistent. The bagels in particular are fluffy and chewy goodness - tasting great straight from the bin or after getting toasted. I love the jalapeno cheddar, cinnamon sugar and everything- in fact there are none that I don't like! I find myself driving there mid-morning to buy more than I can eat even though I promised myself I wouldn't. Good thing I work out nearly every morning! I love the Fig and Pig sandwich so much that I make it at home as a regular treat. Prior to CHBCo., I didn't keep fig jam in my house! And the cinnamon roll is pure insane indulgence. If you're craving some bagels on the weekend, get there early and plan to wait in line. According to my palate, they're worth it.

I’ve tried Crieve Hall Bagel Co. twice, and both times I wished I had gone somewhere else.

When picking up my most recent order, I attempted three times—with three different staff members—to show them a printout of my order. Each person assured me they didn’t need the confirmation. However, I could tell the order they were preparing wasn’t mine—it was for a much larger and entirely different order. Only after some back and forth did they realize it belonged to someone else with a similar first name.

When I received my order, I asked to confirm that our tax exemption would be honored and that the bagels had been sliced, as requested in the form I submitted. The staff member said the tax might be refunded and that they require 48 hours' notice to slice bagels. I pointed out that I had submitted my order a week and a half in advance. She then explained there are two different online order forms, and I had used the one that doesn’t include a slicing option.

I prioritize supporting local businesses, but when feeding a group of 10, I’d be better off with Panera or Bruegger’s Bagels—places that offer reliable customer service and a...
