Just left this store 15 min ago getting a DoorDash order.
The cashier asked if I was there for a pickup, I told her the name and she said I could just go ahead and get it from the shelf.
I then asked her one simple question. “Do we just walk in and pick them up? This required one simple answer. Her response was, “not normally.” This would have been an adequate enough answer. Then she goes on to say, “ but when you have a cripple::: (and said something else).
Then she goes on to even say, “I trust you.” So instinctively at this point I’m seeing that she is saying too much, what is she trying to start here by continuing. Or, she must be trying to act out because there are other people present or is this one of America’s trendy racial moments. I have no clue so I respond, “you have no reason not to trust me.” She said something else, I got the order then left:
Just answering yes or no to the initial question I had does away with the extra jargon and lessens the potential for some sort of dispute and/or continuous backtalk She had on a blue shirt so if she represents the management this is not appropriate- bringing up “trust” in particular situations, especially in the environment of today that has been created is not perceived well by particular persons or even groups possibly. It’s just everyone won’t say it. So if you’re truly concerned with good customer service this is a nugget for you all to think about.
** again and ultimately a simple yes or no from the worker would have alleviated any other small talk and the dasher or any other person could be on their way.
Also look into this as a respect factor. Everyone doesn’t perceive things the same way that a person actually says it. Lots of outside factors psychologically come into play.
“Yes” or “no” only and when relevant are the...
Read moreThis is what I got when I tried to order a meal. Boiled chicken and three slices of not ripe tomatoes. The chicken was even cold. This is all I got for breakfast. I could not eat the rubber chicken.
I have Alpha Gal Syndrome. I explained that to both the server and her supervisor. This was the best that they could do for me.
How come I can go to Taco Bell and get fresh food without the worry of cross contamination, but Cracker Barrel can’t even plate one dish?
Nobody from management stopped by our table and asked if they could help.
This is pathetic. I challenge anyone on the Cracker Barrel management team to live as I do for one week You would find a way to serve healthy food that everyone can eat.
This was on a Thursday at 10:45 AM. No excuses for the lack of customer service provided. Not even a coffee refill.
EDIT
I was contacted by “Customer Service “ and that is as far as it went. Cracker Barrel is on the way downhill in my opinion. Avoid this location.
Second edit.
I requested by email to speak with someone. After two months only automated replies saying they will review my text and get back to me. Texas Road House phoned me immediately. I am not after free food, but as a former service professional I was hoping to help make CB a better place to eat.
Cracker Barrel does not care and gets a FAIL in the customer service department as well as the bad food award.
Now it has been 3 months since my complaint. No cracker barrel response. It is obvious to me that cracker barrel does not care about their customers. I will be telling all my friends to avoid this chain.
Hey Cracker Barrel. This is why you should respond to customers complaints. Corporate image is dropping because you don’t care about the customer. People read...
Read moreUnfathomably disappointing... I've been going to Cracker Barrel for over 20 years, and that's how I'd put it. I ordered the meatloaf with the veg of the day ("boiled" cabbage), green beans, and mashed potatoes. My partner got chicken and dumplings. The cabbage was lightly blanched in water at most resulting in it being very underdone with little seasoning if any. The green beans tasted like someone opened a can, dumped it in a 1/3 pan and set it in a steam well to warm up. Four minutes later, they scooped it on to my plate, lukewarm and fresh from a can with no effort to make it palatable. My mashed potatoes had chunks of potato that were undoubtedly underdone as if someone stretched out the batch with par-cooked diced potatoes and sold it. The meatloaf was good. The biscuits came out burned well after the food hit the table. The food was cold, but the biscuits were burned as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp since the order came back. My partner's chicken and dumplings had rubbery, large pieces of chicken in it. She just ended up eating around the chicken. This was not the end of the night when one can expect a limited effort. It was 7:30 PM. Slogging through the meal reminded me of a morning run while hung over from a long night of drinking. You just push through it stone-faced because you know if you just keep pushing, the end will come soon. I've been disappointed by Cracker Barrel before, but never like this. I could have produced better results with a room temperature can of Chef Boyardee and rock to...
