La Juquilita — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

Expensive for a cash only spot, especially the non-taco meals. They don't have green salsa like most taquerias, which combined with how bland their chicken tacos were, meant the food had almost no flavor. Very disappointing for a place that seems authentic when you walk in. They don't give itemized bills by default, so be careful about getting overcharged. Since it's expensive for a cash only place, it's hard to tell when you get an $80 bill for 5 whether or not it's legit when it's not itemized. There are many reviews about how asking for an itemized bill took a lot of effort and led to drastically lower bills. We didn't fight for an itemized bill unfortunately so we'll never know, but I won't be back since even low quality fast food...

I’m from El Paso, so I recognize authentic Mexican food. This is it! I got the chicken mole enchiladas which was enough for 3 meals. They have posted prices now probably in response to all the comments about that issue. The prices are outrageous if you consider that this is a true dive. You can sit at one of the spaces at a makeshift counter if there are no more than 6 people inside. We were planning to dine in. However the lack of space and the absolutely abysmal attitude of the young girl who begrudgingly took our order convinced us to take our order and go. We were hungry and had walked over so we put aside her attitude and sticker shock and ordered. Food was fabulous. Very sad that lack of decency and pricing will keep...

This wonderful family has the best tacos in all of Nashville. Freshly cooked from scratch, the cuisine is more central Mexican (they are from the lovely state of Oaxaca) than Tex-Mex. The prices can't be beat and everything, I mean, EVERYTHING, is really good. I just had a sope the other day and it was outstanding!

I really, really love this place!

Bring cash (no credit cards) and a little Spanish if you want some of the best food in town for a fantastic price. (And you don't need to speak Spanish at all; you can point to the menu on the wall.)
