My Postmates order experience: I really had high expectations for this place but I think my experience was a little mixed. Surprised by my experience I started looking deeper at reviews and saw others had a similar, poor or lacking delivery experience. I wish I had realized sooner this was a common.
Order arrived without any soy sauce or chopsticks or napkins or anything. Kind of surprising.
Literally everything was a dollar more than the restaurant price. Which is a 10 to 20% markup. But why? They literally just threw it in a styrofoam box. No decoration or ramekins of sauce. What was that $3 for? I had three rolls and I paid an extra $3.
I wish there were pictures of all the food on their postmates menu. Between their Google site, website and postmates I really wasn't sure what a lot of the rolls were. And a lot of the rolls don't give you the option to ask questions or make requests.
The yellowtail and scallion roll was so good. And I liked that they gave me the option to pay to add things to the role. I paid a dollar to add cream cheese to this roll and it was so so good. I get yellow tail and scallion roll all the time at other places and I've never had it with cream cheese before. This was so good.
Hot night roll was pretty good. I wish it had a little more flavor but it wasn't bad. I'd probably get this again if I came back
I didn't catch the Philadelphia roll had smoked salmon and I was not a fan at all. Every bite I took I thought this is gross.
All my rolls seem to lack a proper amount of rice. I don't know why. It's hard to get full when there isn't enough rice. I could see the seaweed wrap and it made them fall apart easier. I don't know. You can see it in the picture. It wasn't terrible but just weird and made them less filling.
$37 and 3 rolls later, And I'm still hungry. Normally this would leave me stuff so I don't know. Maybe I was extra hungry.
I ordered it 7:45 and my order wasn't ready until 8:15. Maybe that's why my role was so cold when it arrived. I don't really know what happened there. 30 minutes isn't the end of the world but seems odd for Sunday after dinner rush.
In conclusion, I get delivery sushi from all sorts of places pretty regularly and had really high hopes for this restaurant. it wasn't terrible but not the quality I would have expected based on word of mouth and reviews and my baseline expectations of a delivery order. I definitely wouldn't do delivery from here again. Not sure if I would try in restaurant now or not. If you're getting delivery I might recommend skipping here. Or hopefully they read this and make an effort to improve the delivery experience. No one wants to think gross or an appetizing on expensive...
Read moreThe power went out here when we were there because od that gas fire down the street and they still served us. The vegetarian sushi was quite good and the person serving us was very sweet. Good lunch spot.
Visited again and I got the green roll ans the veggie roll. Both were excellent. I especially love the added detail of charring the ends of the asparagus a bit so when you get to thr last bite of the roll you get a surprise extra flavor.
Edit: went here again with some meat-eating folks and they were blown away by the quality of the raw sushi options as well as the variety of the menu. They were particularly happy with the meat to rice ratio on the sushi as they prefer less rice. I also tried the tofu teriyaki bento and the flavor and texture...
Read moreTwo blocks away from us. We were excited to see a local sushi restaurant opening within walking distance. Needless to say; we are obsessed! Every sushi roll is just as good as the other, the spicy edamame is addicting and the hot plum sake is a must try. I warn you, this place will make you want to come back and try the whole menu. This is our second visit and we’re already talking about coming back to try the appetisers and the rest of the rolls. I just hope this place keeps their standards high and can keep it as amazing as when it...
