Especially if you visit on the weekends, you’ll be able to find fresh-out-of-the-oven hopia (filipino pastry that reminds me a bit of mooncakes but less sugary) that are simultaneously crisp, crunchy, buttery, and flaky on the outside, with moist and creamy fillings spanning ube (purple yam), pineapple, jackfruit, coconut, sweet onion, and mung bean. The combination of quality, freshness, and breadth of pastries—not to mention, price (<$1 each)—cannot be beat!

Yup I agree and it should be famous. Ching's do have the best and I mean the best Hopia out here in San Diego. Not a fan at all of eating hopia but as soon as I tried their hopia, it's game over! The dice ube hopia, oh my gulay! So good, that it kicked me out of my ketosis. That jackfruit tho, also my favorite! Ok fine I lied, all of the flavors are my favorite. Perfect dessert idea to bring for potluck or parties.

A small place to buy assorted kind of hopia. Best jackfruit hopia ever. Very cheap, so cheap that you can buy a dozen for less than ten bucks. Will keep coming back here for their hopia. Make sure to buy here though. Don't buy in their hopia that are being sold around the area, those are very dry. Go buy the one that are just made.

I bought a ā€œtravel packā€ of ube and buko pandan hopia as a souvenir to bring with me back to Colorado for my little brother. He says to me, ā€œKuya pls get some more next time you are in SDā€. Neither of us really even ate hopia all that much growing up Filipino and finding it at different establishments, but this place…is something else. The ā€œfamousā€ in their name is not without backing. This really is the tastiest hopia I have ever eaten. It is insanely good. Obviously it’s great because it’s made fresh, but even after having it all packed up and eaten over the course of two days (we would have inhaled it in two minutes if we weren’t careful) all 27 of the hopia was absolutely top notch. It holds up over time. I’m coming back to get three more of these travel packs. They...

Okay, let me say one thing. I moved up a couple hours north and although I've been told there is some Filipino places up here, I would NOT be placing orders from up here if this place wasn't good. I literally just placed an order (because some of my co-workers are down there, coming up this evening) and my family is picking them up and dropping them off at the work site in San Diego so that they can bring it up here. Yeah, its a hole in the wall, but that is probably what makes them so great. They have been there for a couple years now I think, and they still make the flakiest, mouth watering, scrumptious, bombitty bomb bomb little hopia bombs! Seriously, all I need is some ube hopia,...

You may have the best hopia in town but you will NEVER HAVE THE BEST SERVICE. I only visit San Diego once a year or two and I make it to a point to stop here for good hopia to take home with me. This guy at front who takes and packs your orders is VERY RUDE!!! I came in to order 3 x 50pcs and he just kept on rolling his eyes and shaking his head as if I am not helping their business. I don’t know who he is, I hope not the owner, but he needs some customer service skills. I wonder if I’m the only one whom he...
