Giant New York Pizza — Restaurant in National City

We have been looking for a good pizza place for about 4 months now. We have tried about 6 new places and this was just ok. I called in and asked to pick up at 5pm. We drove there and we actually got there at 4:59pm. We ordered a special that came with a XL pizza, chicken wings and a soda. We wanted some cheese bread so we also ordered some. Our pizza was ready at 5:10 which we didn't mind the 10 minute wait. Once we paid for the order we just hung out. When I went to get the order I noticed that there was only one box aside from the pizza. I informed the lady that the cheese bread was missing and she went and grabbed the order and she said 'ok 10-15 minutes more.' At this point I had become upset because we had already waited 10 minutes and our order was going to delay another 15 minutes. We went to the car and waited for the order to be ready. We got the order and we were offered an additional soda for waiting which was nice of the owner to do. Once we got home and opened the pizza it was super cold. We put every slice in the microwave and just ate it like that. The pizza sauce lacked seasoning and it was basically just tomato. My husband opened the chicken wings and they didn't look very appealing. They had the whole wing there even the tips. They lacked meat and weren't well cooked at all. We ened up tossing them. The only good part about the whole meal was the cheese bread. That was moist and hot. Needless to say we will continue to look for a good...

I'm really disappointed to write this review because I had high hopes and I'm really hoping today was an anomaly. I tried this pizza for the first time today after many months of a close friend urging me have this pizza. He normally orders the meat lovers pizza, so that's what I ordered. I thought the price was really good and they have a lot on the menu too! When I picked up the pizza and brought it to the car, it was actually my friend, who recommended this place, that noticed it smelled weird first. I then realized the usual pizza smell was not there but a different smell that was sort of sour. Me being optimistic, I shrugged it off. We got home, ate the first slice, and realized this first slice was the better slice and it didn't taste well at all. We tried another slice and it was worse. We're not sure if the meat was bad, the sauce, or the cheese but it was so bad we didn't finish the slice and threw the rest of the pizza away. One of my biggest fears is getting food poisoning so I don't think I'll be back to try again, therefore I am unable to recommend...

I placed an order yesterday 1/19/15 for the first time, and the food was excellent. My family and I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, lasagna , Greek salad, and large order of fries. We had our meal in 30 min and everything was delicious. The customer service was great too. I recommend this place over Mike's Giant New York Pizza, hands down. Better food and much better customer service. Mike's lacks in all of these areas all together.

I will, positively, order from Giant New York...
