L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in National City

I really feel for you weekend duty warriors. This is most definitely, hands down the worst L&L I have ever been to. $5 extra if you want beef or shrimp and a few other items. When asked if I was okay with the extra charge, I said no, I'll just go with the chicken, rice, and Mac salad. The chicken was so overcooked that parts of it could literally cut mooring lines, I'm not kidding. The rice... well... was rice. The Mac salad tasted like it had a hint of cleaning products in it. And, if you are planning on a cold refreshing fountain drink during the hot day, think again. No ice in the ice machine, when I brought it up to the staff they just said "okay". The first time I went here I got the Katsu Chicken. They told me I had to wait and so I did. The Katsu was hard and I was very disappointed. The second time my wife wanted to try it and I figured maybe the last time was a one off, let's give them another chance. Well after I had to repeat my order about four times I assumed they got it right. The lady kept wanting to give me the bbq beef. When I got home the chicken I ordered wasn't in the box. This place isn't what I expected, considering I have been to L&L in National City and Lancaster. Those establishments are great. This one not so much. Keep walking to McDonald's or the snack section at the NEX. I would give them 5 negative...

This is a rebranded rice king, nothing about this place resembles hawaiian food. The first tip off that this place is bad was that this place wasn't made to order. The second was that there was lumpia and pancit on the line. I wouldn't complain about this weird menu if the food was good, but it is not, it is old food that deserves to be in the trash.
