$7 meal in San Diego, where else besides NBSD galley. I wanted to write something for my experience long time ago finally get down to it. I’m getting a little emotional because I’m soon be out of navy and I will definitely miss the food and dining experience here. I have to say Navy do spoil me with the food. Look at the varieties. Fresh fruits and vegetables, deserts, drinks, so healthy and well balanced in nutrition. My stomach is so spoiled that I can’t handle fast food anymore. One time I tried Wendy’s because my kid keeps telling me how much he craving for it, and I got sick for a few days after that. Some people join navy to travel, some for education, and some for food! And I am not surprised if people say they join navy for food. 😋😋😋

Last time I ate here was 4 years ago during the pandemic when everything was grab-n-go. Since I was in the area I decided to stop by for breakfast. For the price, you can’t beat it. I got a made to order omelet, minute steak and Louisiana sausage. They had a few more options like waffles and a fresh fruit salad bar as well. I had green tea… which suspiciously tasted like the raspberry tea that was next to it… but overall, for less than $4.50 this cannot be beat. The other day I had a Denny’s All-American slam for about 4x as much and not as filling. Mercer Galley be bussin’ y’all.

So I like this better than some galleys I’ve been to. One thing I don’t like is how they are still using plastic utensils rather than metal. Maybe big navy is delayed on relaying info or whatever, but these flimsy forks are really bugging me and I’m sick of knowing that I’m creating so much waste by coming here, what with the styrofoam Togo containers and the single use utensils. Leave it to the navy to be part of a problem. Aside from that, food is regular and the galley employees are generally better in terms of their attitudes than the CSs, but that’s to...
