Aegean Express — Restaurant in Navarre

I am delighted to share my outstanding experience at the Aegean Express restaurant in Mary Esther. As former residents of Shalimar, my wife and I were regulars at the original Aegean restaurant and were thrilled when they opened a new location closer to our current home. Despite the change in location, the Aegean Express has maintained the same high-quality food and exceptional service that we loved at their Shalimar restaurant.

Every visit to the Aegean Express is a culinary adventure. The menu offers a variety of delicious Greek dishes, but my personal favorite is the Souvlaki chicken. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the fresh salad that accompanies it is a delightful blend of crisp vegetables and tangy dressing. On occasion, I also indulge in their Greek potatoes, which are a flavorful treat that I highly recommend.

While I am not one for desserts, my wife is a big fan of the sweet treats at Aegean Express. She has tried all of their desserts and has nothing but praise for each one. Whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer savory dishes, Aegean Express has something to satisfy every palate.

What sets Aegean Express apart from other restaurants, however, is not just their food, but their exceptional customer service. The young man who manages the front of the restaurant is always kind, polite, and thoughtful. As someone who uses an electric wheelchair, I appreciate his efforts to ensure that I can navigate the restaurant comfortably. He is always one step ahead, making sure that I have everything I need. His impeccable customer service truly enhances our dining experience and makes us feel valued as customers.

Dropped in on Mother's Day. We were the only ones there. Which was perfect as we were trying to avoid Covid crowds since Covid is still very active in the area. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in the door. No fountain drinks available only cans, bottled drinks and fresh coffee. Placed three orders. One was a lamb shishkabob plate with taziki sauce, and 2 sides. She chose hummus and green salad. The lamb was perfectly cooked and delicious. Sides were very tasty. Second order was a traditional gyro. It was bulging with meat, fresh lettuce, fresh tomatoes etc and also delicious. Came with a side of really good rice and taziki. I ordered Greek meatballs , a spanikopita and a side of dolmas . Very flavourful and delicious meatballs and dolmas. The spanikopita had a fantastic crust and presentation and texture just a little too much salt everyone agreed. But everything thing else would be ordered again. Would definitely go back. Funny thing was that four more families stopped in for Mothers Day lunch saying the same thing we did as they walked in the door... This place looks interesting and is not very crowded. Perfect place for a Mother's Day lunch!!! And it was the perfect...

Hubby and I are from St Louis Mo. and are surrounded among amazing Greek food, but Aegean Greek express is by-far some of THE best greek food we have ever had..everythimg was so fresh/flavorful..We had traditional Gyros= fluffy pita..perfectly seasoned meat..the freshes of lettuce/tomato..we sat on their patio next to a vine of tomatoes growing..can't get any fresher than that!!..we also tried the Greek potatoes and all I can say is OMG!!! ..reminded me of the potatoes my momma made with her pot-roast..perfectly seasoned..so good I wanted to lick the plate..lol..we also tried the spanikopita..best I've had..flacky with unique flavors dipped in their creamy tzatziki sauce..you wouldn't even know your eating spinach..we also loved how welcoming..friendly and accommodating the staff were..It may be a small blue and white building, but inside is a HUGE array of culinary delights..can't wait to come back and try all the other...
