This place used to be really good. We would go there once a week or once every other week. I started thinking It just was a bad night then it seems like last four times we've been there. The experiences just been not good. Well last night was the final straw. I asked if they had any prime rib left. They said they did. I ordered medium rare and they brought the prime rib out to me. The guy who brought it said well we don't have many left. So this is the rarest one I have. It's probably medium well. Do you want it? Well what am I supposed to do not take the piece of meat and have to reorder? I wish they would have told me they only had medium well left when I did the order. Secondly, one of the bus boys or whatever they are called nowadays picking up a table. Dropped a thing of marinara sauce on the floor, shooting it across the floor and into my wife's shorts, shirt and Booth. Well he knows he dropped it on the floor but he doesn't know that he shot it all over the Mrs.lol which was kind of funny actually. So she goes to the bathroom to try to get marinara sauce out of her new shirt and pants. Although it was just a t-shirt and shorts, nothing special. Finally, the busboy comes back to clean up the floor. I tell him it's all over the booth and underneath the table so he wipes that off which he really only probably got 3/4 of it. We cleaned the rest up. Another thing on the prime rib I got onion rings with it but they brought me the prime rib and after I'm eating it for 10 minutes then they bring me the onion rings which were cold. So I guess they were just sitting there getting cold or something. So now after the Mrs cleaning herself up her food came. It's cold. The waitress did apologize. You think a manager would have come over and said something? Sorry about marinara sauce all over you or we're going to give you the prime rib for free since it was medium well and you ordered medium rare and your onion rings were cold. It's just like nobody seems to care down there anymore. Which is too bad because it's close to where I live and always enjoyed the place. But we have made the decision to to not go back there. Too many bad experiences and too many other restaurants that seem to enjoy...
Read moreThis was honestly, the worst restaurant I've been to in Omaha. The place was very conveniently located by my home and was not busy, so I thought I'd stop in with my family. The food was below average and the service was even worse. The "awesome bites" had a great description, but when they were served, it was apparent that they were prepackaged and frozen. The onion rings were too large at nearly 1.5 inches wide and the batter was mushy and lacked even basic seasoning (salt). I ordered the "insane" wings as wings were on their happy hour menu. The wings that I received were very spicy as expected, but the overwhelming flavor was essentially a mouth full of chili powder. Not chili peppers, but chili powder. Like the 99 cent stuff you buy at the grocery store. They simply were not good. I expressed my dislike of the wings to the waitress who then offered to replace them with something else. I ordered another set of wings in their place. When the check came, I was charged for both sets of wings. I explained to the waitress that I was under the impression that as she offered to send them back that I would not be charged for the first set and felt they should be comped, as I ate a single wing before sending them back. The waitress offered to speak with the manager to take them off. Ultimately the manager was unwilling to remove a 6 dollar order of wings. I expressed my displeasure, but the result was still the same. While frozen, prepackaged appetizers and bland onion rings can be par for the course at many sports bars, the unwillingness to fix a problem is the largest complaint. The bill for my family of 4 came to about 65 dollars, so the 6 dollar order of wings was not a large expense. 6 dollars cost them a customer, multiple bad reviews, and very negative word of mouth advertising. This says more about their business to me than the...
Read moreMy family and I have been to the Lighthouse Bar & Grill several times since it opened last year. We were very excited for a new bar/grill in the area since there are limited options in the Tiburon area for dining. Every time we've been to this establishment the negatives continued to compile. We anticipated some inconsistency when the bar/grill opened up but over time these items have not been resolved or have gotten worse.
Let me start by saying the food is average at best. The only items we've found consistency with are the pizza and the charred wings. Otherwise we've found that the food is overcooked, salty, and greasy. The happy hour beer prices are hard to beat, but the negatives outweigh the otherwise great prices for happy hour.
The acoustics in the room are awful. It's incredibly difficult to have a conversation with the people you are with. This is the loudest bar I have ever been in and it is noticed immediately once you walk into the bar through one of multiple entrances. There appears to be no main entrance. Some of the entrances open up directly to guests at tables which is very inconvenient.
To cap things off, in addition to our food issues last night (greasy, over-seasoned, overcooked), our menus were greasy. When we were in the middle of eating our dinner (we were seated in a booth in the middle of the bar) a server was cleaning up the booth on the other side of the wall and sprayed the cleaning solution all over the table and we could see (and smell) this mist of cleaning solution land all over our half eaten meals. At this point we were done with the meal and it definitely solidified our decision to...
