Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Nebraska

Tonight my best friend and I decided on a later dinner. We ordered online through their website which was simple and easy enough to navigate. Picking a choice of what to get was the tricky part, however we both decided on a smoothie and food option so we could try a variety. I ordered a Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade Smoothie with their Chicken Pesto Flatbread and a side of Kale Apple Slaw and my friend ordered their Bahama Mama Smoothie (not pictured) with the Chicken Caprese Sandwich and the Jalapeño Corn on the side. We absolutely loved the smoothies! They were fresh, flavorful and delicious with the meal. The food was absolutely not what we expected size wise and we were impressed with portion size of the side and flavors were really good. Sides were well seasoned and fresh tasting and something different than what everyone else is offering. The Flatbread totally hit the spot and I added the smoked tomato spread for an added bonus and would 10/10 get it again. The Chicken Caprese Sandwich was simple, flavorful and well done honestly with the best part in my opinion being the balsamic dressing they put on top, balancing the flavors in the sandwich perfectly. Overall we loved our first experience here 10/10 and with it being close to home we definitely plan on making this a spot for our smoothie fix again! Stop in, you will be happy you did! TERRIBLE NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE - I went there today, 4/4/22, around noon and there was a handwritten sign on the drive through sign saying "DT closed, come inside. Short staffed." So I went inside and stood at the counter to try and order for maybe 3-5 mins. Wasn't greeted or even acknowledged. There was a younger man with a headset (which was strange considering the drive through was allegedly closed) on directly behind the counter washing plastic containers circling around, but never made eye contact with me once. Finally after no one helped me, I walked out. I'll never return to this location as this type of service has never happened to me anywhere in my life.

I have visited Tropical Smoothie Cafe several times and each time has been delightful. I love a smoothie in the morning, but don't care for the pre-mixed kind sold by fast food restaurants and gas stations. I stumbled across Tropical Smoothie while in the area on another errand and was super impressed with the quality. It's obvious the smoothies are made fresh when ordered and I love that I can add some B12 to get my morning started off with a little pep in my step. I, personally, think that for the quality and quantity of their smoothies, the price is spectacular. I have also tried one of their breakfast wraps and stopped by and got a turkey sandwich for lunch.
