I live nearby and wanted to try a local place to eat for lunch. This Cafe is located at the corner of Jones and Russell in a small mini-mall next to a Wing Stop. It has a very homey, cozy vibe interior with industrial type edison bulb lighting, rustic Midwest vintage decor with a splash of Star Wars memorabilia (the owner loves Star Wars), comfortable seating on weathered couches or tables and chairs, and a chalkboard menu. The menu leans heavily on teas, coffees, shakes, and hot and cold lattes. In addition there is a selection of sandwich options and fresh baked treats available. You order at the counter, pay, and wait for your name to be called. I ordered the Turkey Pesto sandwich. It comes with potato chips and served in a clear square to-go container. It was $11.50. Given that it's a local place and the price level of restaurant food, this was about what I expected but was expecting it to be served on a plate rather than a to-go container with a side of more than store-bought Ruffles potato chips (my only slight criticisms). The warm, toasted sandwich was what I had hoped. A tasty blend of pesto, fresh greens, sun-dried tomatoes, and turkey breast on delicious panini-pressed toasted hearty fresh bread. It was a healthy portion and tasted delicious. I didn't try any of their drinks or baked goods, but I will on future visits (of which there will be.) I really enjoyed my sandwich far better than any chain options available within the area. Also the service was cheerful, friendly, and helpful. I definitely think it's worth giving this cute, cozy neighborhood ...
Read moreI was drawn to come here by the fabulous intsagram posts. I am sorely disappointed. I got a thai bubble milk tea. Easy simple, as a base comparison to other bubble joints. It was very lack luster, I know thai tea is tea dust flavored with chemicals and a dash of spices, I accept that, but I've had really good thai milk tea and mine looked nothing like some of the intsagram thai tea. I also ordered their "mermaid" milk tea, so I'm thinking some cool layering with colors maybe matcha is in there or something. Instead I'm let down with a jasmine milk tea with sea salt cream. . . Is it called mermaid cause looking and tasting it makes you feel salty? Again this is an easy tea, but it's also easy to make it bad. Jasmine is notorious for being bitter and even with the sugar and non dairy creamer I could tell it was. Also sea salt cream, usually it comes as a layered topping , so that's what I'm expecting. All I got was some blended in bs. The espresso that my friend ordered was B I T T E R Coffee isn't sweet I get you, but man I felt like battery acid entered my system trying a sip of it. Now the reason I'm giving this 3 stars and not lower The desserts are tasty, ube cheesecake and Madeline very nice Atmosphere, the cafe is super cute and I could easily see it being a chill place to meet someone.
Honestly there was plenty more on the menu, milkshakes , lattes and whatnot, but I picked drinks that if done right would show me the quality of the cafe, and I'm not impressed. Instagram you...
Read moreSo happy to hear that they opened a location here in Vegas. My sister and I waited and drove by occasionally to see their progress and were so excited for them to open. We came during their opening week and was so happy that we live so close to the location (Jones and Russell).
The ube cupcake with leche flan is a must have! Although I've been on a diet, don't eat too much sweets, this was one thing I could not turn down! The ube cupcake was cooked to perfection, soft and just melted in my mouth. The leche flan was perfectly sweet. (*eat using a plate or with a napkin because the syrup from the flan does leak and tends to get all over the place) I brought a few cupcakes to work and my non-Filipino coworkers who have never had either ube or flan fell in love with them also!
Such a cool vibe in the place with tons of games and decorations to play with and look at while waiting for your order.
The teas!!! I was so happy to learn that there were a selection not loose leaf teas. It is hard to find places that make teas with real tea leaves and not powder! I'm a fan of the hibiscus calamansi. It was soo refreshingly tasty! (Not a fan of the boba, it was slightly hard but I know that is how Filipinos like the boba in the desserts)
I literally left this place an hour ago and already am planning when I...
