As someone who moved from the RDU area to small town New Bern, this opening has been exciting! I have tried pho in different places and used to live across the street from a pho restaurant, I am very happy with this representation of Pho! I read another review that said the beef pho was too sweet? This was not my experience. It was savory and full of flavor! That was one of my first comments when taking the first bite. My partner had the special pho and we both enjoyed our meals very much (our 10 month old daughter also enjoyed having some of our food).
We bought a half a dozen specialty doughnuts and we have only tried a couple, but they are so tasty! As someone who has worked in bakeries before, the doughnut consistency and taste itself is delicious! So soft.
The staff was really pleasant and helpful when navigating the menu and answering our questions. They even entertained our baby girl 😆 The one thing I would suggest is getting a couple of high chairs for dining in. This will help families with small children as it gets hard to eat and hold baby.
Overall, I am very thrilled this place has opened up. As someone who enjoys different types of foods, New Bern can be lacking and this place adds some much needed flavor. Please keep in mind, they just opened up so they may have room to grow in some areas, but I think they're off to a great start. I have helped open several establishments before and it takes time to build perfection. So for those making not so great reviews without considering this, I will never forgive you if you try to contribute to a downfall 😃
We will be going...

As someone who’s had lots of pho at different restaurants, the beef pho here was probably the sweetest pho broth I ever had… I do understand different pho broths exist but most places I’ve gone to had a broth that wasn’t so sweet but more savory and a bit more clear than the one here. So from personal preference, it was too sweet, along with the peanut sauce that came with the fresh spring rolls. I do think someone who’s never had pho may like it though!
Pricing wise it was also a bit pricey (15.99 for regular beef pho and 17.99 for the special) for the amount of pho as well (the amount of noodle just seemed too little for the price). The portion may be enough for some people, but the same price for the beef pho is usually for a large size bowl at pho found in other towns in NC (Jacksonville, Wilmington). It is also understandable since there isn’t many pho options in New Bern, but just slightly disappointing.
I do think it’s great that there’s more Asian food options opening in the town and highly respect the owners for combining American food and Vietnamese food so that people might try something new when coming in for donuts or bagels. I highly encourage the average person to try out pho for the first time here (but also in other places when you have the chance to). I probably won’t come back for the pho, but might try the other...
Read moreI just inhaled the everything bagel with Jalapeño bacon cream cheese!! The flavor!! The texture!!! Soooo delicious!! Happy to have you right down the street! Thank-you! Edit: won't gatekeeper on this gem of a spot! Found out the jalapeño bacon cream cheese is mixed with actual REAL BACON & Roasted jalapeño by their baker..not some pre-packaged nonsense! THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!!..im from Jersey & this was the most delicious bagel ive had since leaving 20 yrs ago. Per other comments about the size or uniformity of the bagels...thats EXACTLY WHAT I LOVE! it shows a REAL PERSON made these..not a machine & the texture is beautiful, as well as the amount of yummy seasoning that coats them beautifully!! A bagel should have a certain density & pull/chew to it...and this gave me a private moment of bakers bliss! Please dont change a thing! Those who know, know..and I can't wait to come back in the...
