Max Pizza II — Restaurant in New Britain

So disappointed!! I was told the place was decent, so tonight i tried it, went to pick up my pizza and the girl tells me total is $14.82, i hand my card over and she gives me the receipt with a total of $15.40 charged to it. I looked at her and said "didn't you say 14.82?" She said yes. So at that point i said well you charged me wrong, she then moves my pizza box over on the counter points to some worn off decal and says well when you use your card, you get a service charge. So i said to her. Than say your total is 15.40 or when i hand you a card say theres an additional charge when using a card so the new total is $...... . Her response is, MY BOSS TOLD ME NOT TO TELL PEOPLE THAT! I said wheres your boss bc thats bad practice to misinform people. Of course not one form of management in the building. Friday night, and no one in charge. At this point i have hungry kids waiting to eat so I take the pizza annoyed and planning to call in the morning to speak to someone about the situation. Get the pizza home and its disgusting! BURNT! And so much sauce you cant taste the rest of the pizza! (I didnt order it with extra sauce) i literally had to lift up the cheese and scrape a spoonfull of sauce off each piece before any off before any of my kids would eat it. I am so unhappy with this evening's experience. I will be going elsewhere...

The place was a good vibe but we sat for about fifteen minutes before anyone came to our table, when the server did she said “we really didn’t know whose table it was”, we brushed it off and ordered or food. What the sever didn’t tell anyone of us was the quality of food we would receive. We had three children with us of them ordered 12 piece boneless wings. Unbeknownst to us the boneless wings were more like huge chicken tenders. My husband and I ordered grinders( typically most grinders large Grinders are 8-12’ , the server didn’t inform us when we asked for large that on large Grinder could feed atleast 3 ppl.

We eat out pretty often and good servers will typically tell us how big the portions are when we order large or small.

Sidenote: the mozzarella sticks were good.

Personally my grinder had no seasoning and the chicken was okay . The other grinder had an obnoxious bread to meat ratio and the bread tasted a bit out dated.

I tasted a few tenders and the bbq sauce was not that good, the tenders weren’t tossed and fries properly.

Amongst all that the server only came to our table once. We waited another 15 someone else asked if we needed boxes and the check.

We are usually outstanding tippers, not in this case. I didn’t feel bad about leaving a $5 tip...

We do not order from ANYWHERE else! This happens to be our neighborhood pizza place, BUT...we would order from here even if it wasn't close to home! We order from Max Pizz II about once a week and have NEVER received an order done wrong or incomplete! Your call will always be answered by someone who is happy to receive it, no irritated employees that make u feel rushed or like you're bothering them to take your order! They have an extensive menu and we have tried a variety of items and been VERY pleased with everything we have ordered. Our absolute favorite part about MaxPizza II is the consistency of their food and especially their pizza! We always get the same delicious pie week after week! Not heavy sauce one week, burnt bottom the next, light cheese the next week, not here! You will receive a CONSISTENTLY delicious pizza!!!!! When we pick up, the kids love to grab an Avery's and Mom&Dad love the desserts in the cooler! Dine in is great too! Nice servers, attentive service and nice clean atmosphere, very family friendly. Oh and summer evenings...the ice cream window is AWESOME! Bottom line... this place...
