First off, I want to state that we drove 20 minutes from the casino hotel we were staying at in a different state just to visit this buffet. Our casino did not have a buffet so we figured this one wasn’t that far and we could also check out the gaming too. The place has a longer entrance than to be expected and the road is full of curves, I don’t recommend if you are drinking but that could be the purpose. There was completely easy access to entry once parked, plus one! Security at entrance was very nice, helpful and explained everything, plus 2! Buffet entrance was right up front with out forcing you to pass through all the gaming areas first, plus 3! There was not a huge line to wait and host seemed to be moving everyone through the line at an expected pace, plus 4! Our turn to pay and I, a woman, handed cash to the cashier. When he was ready to hand the change back, he reached over me to hand it to my husband. I found that as the first strike, as it should have been handed to the person who gave it to him. I chalked that up to possibly him being well mannered and was raised that a man pays, and it could have been that innocent, none the less, it still wasn’t the proper way to handle the transaction and others could view it as chauvinistic. We were seated, the hostess was very nice and friendly, plus 5! Our server reached our table before we could even stand up, plus 6. Her name was Felicia, she seemed nice, checked our drink order, offered me water for the wine I ordered, And seemed as if she was on top of things, plus 7! We walked through the whole buffet, all the food appeared to be fresh, the stations were clean, the meat carver was pleasant, plus 8! Felicia came back to our table once we sat and asked if we needed any sauces, etc for our food, plus 9! After that, Felicia did not come back for quite some time, she then approached and asked my husband if he would like a refill of his tea, and while I would normally plus this service, I had an empty wine glass and not only did she not attempt to remove the empty glasses, she didn’t even ask me if I would like another glass. Strike 2. When she brought my husbands refill, she still did not acknowledge me. My husband gave her the opportunity to do so, so then after she was walking away, he stopped her and made her come back to refill my drink. Strike 3! After that, she never came back to the table. She walked by multiple times and didn’t stop and check on us. Strike 4. I, personally having worked server jobs, and having worked in a different casino, know exactly how the job is, I am always polite, I pre bus my own table to make things easier for the them, and I am very generous when tipping! Because I have worked in the industry I also know what good service is, and what isn’t. And because I go above and beyond to make these servers job easier and beneficial, I also expect good service. This time, my husband stopped me from pre bussing my table, and we also tipped accordingly. While I tipped less than normal, it was still well above being sufficient for the service we got. Offering my husband a refill on a half empty glass of tea, but not me on an empty glass of wine? That my friend was the no go, as I am the...
Read moreFirst time staying at the hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday. When we arrived at the buffet around 7:10pm there were 3 groups ahead of us with 2-4 people in each group. Only two staffers were working the front. One person was ringing in guest and the other person was showing guest to their seats. 20 minutes later we were still waiting to pay and enter. I do not know why the check in process was taking so long nor did any staff member take the time to explain. The buffet closes in about 30 minutes. At that moment another group of 4 walked past the rest of us in line. I could hear one in the group say that they were preferred members but since only one register was open they decided it was appropriate to cut the line and head straight for the solo cashier. This was upsetting to the rest of us that had been patiently waiting. We felt that since only one line was open everyone should wait their turn. When we got to the register the cashier said that she would help us after she helped the preferred members. We objected and asked to speak to the manager. The cashier said the manager was the other person that was showing guests to their seat. When the manager came back she also said that they would be helping the preferred guests before us - very matter of factly and not apologetic. Recognizing the time, one of the other guest behind us asked if they were still closing at 8pm. The cashier stated “yes, you’ll have 30 minutes to eat your meal.” With that my wife and I decided not to stay and asked the manager for her business card as we intended to file a complaint. She stated she did not have one as she walked away. Being a 1st time guest this was a terrible experience. Take aways for future consideration: 1.) If your policy is to serve preferred members first, then always having someone (even the manager) manning the preferred member line should also be policy. 2.) For the sake of a positive experience, instead of being dismissive and taking any action, please explain what’s going on to your guests and make a sincere effort to apologize for any...
Read moreCame here for a thanksgiving dinner with family from out of town. My dads sick and I don’t see him often so our meal and this gathering was important to us. I’m from Detroit and it was a long drive but ready to have a great meal with our family. Little did I know .. We had a party of 15 and we prepaid in advance. We spent well over $1000 and were treated horribly. The manager on the floor I didn’t get her name but she pounded the table multiple times asking where my dad and grandmother was as they were up in the buffet. Although we prepaid in advance and didn’t even sit together she kept asking us about gratuity. Because our family walked up to us and didn’t even sit with us. It was absolutely ridiculous we couldn’t enjoy our meal without having our manager come up to us multiple times. I’m a server myself and I am astonished at how unprofessional the environment was. I asked for a glass of wine from my server (believe it was Alicia) and she told me I have to go back in the line to grab it. So ok no problem I did, then I headed up front and the lady working the register even called the server out and said she should’ve grabbed it for us. Take your money elsewhere! I understand it was thanksgiving and busy but as a server this is a great opportunity to make money and even the server had an attitude. The food was good but the server and manager ruined the experience. I never leave reviews but take your...
