Billy Goat 9 & Dine — Restaurant in New Carlisle

We've tried eating here several times, it's a lovely bar well planned out there is one area for dining that can be sectioned off for those needing a bit of privacy if booking for a small party. Then there is a area around the bar more in keeping with just the bar goers or those wanting a table to sit and drink at. It's always been clean and welcoming everyone will ask how you are and recognise us as locals often talking to us on our daily walk and waving. The drinks are reasonable but being a rare drinker I don't have much experience beside the odd beer there seems to be a good selection of different brands and proves popular with locals after work for drink.

Foodwise I will say has been very hit and miss over the years. Our first try was whwn the menu was a mere 2 pages and 3 years ago ir was STUNNING I kid you not we were thrilled and vowed to be regulars. The pizzas at this point in time are what I would call acceptable, they are expensive but if the right person does them they are gorgeous but it's dependant on time and the particular day Friday and Saturday after 7pm you can wait upto 2 hours for a pizza one attempt was 3 hours. The busier it is can and has resulted in orders going missing or being wrong. Much to my husbands dismay this happened a few months back the order for a bite to eat never got turned in due to rowdy patrons taking bartenders attention up she never took ticket in after waiting 2 hours to find out hadn't been put through. They expected him and a friend to wait another hour so he cancelled order and left to eat elsewhere.

We've tried during the day on very quiet days and had similar issues with order coming out wrong or not being cooked enough or having to send order back due issues. They have updated the menu to be more in keeping with the work towards being a golf club so it's now more sandwiches and lighter bites vs heavier evening meals. After numerous issues we've had to say no more eating here as has a friend duemto the same problems.

Overall it's a pleasant place to drink if you avoid peak times Friday and Saturday but my only recommendation is to not let people get so rowdy and drunk. Several visitors have said it's turned them away from eating here due to the behavior displayed and often leaves dining areas deserted during what should be popular eating hours. This is definitely more of a have a few drinks place vs a place to eat food. If things improve in those 2 problem areas I would definitely give them...

I don't know why we went back. Every time we go the service is very slow. When we got there it took along time for a waitress just come by and ask if we wanted menus. 15 minutes later the menu showed up and she took our drink order. 20 minutes later our drink showed up she just set them on the table and walked away. The restaurant wasn't busy. A half an hour went by she showed up to take our food order. 45 minutes later our food order showed up. ( Again they were not busy) I assumed that she was going back to get the rest of my order but I never saw her again. We flag down a different waitress and asked where the french fries were that I had ordered she said oh I'll get them right away. A half hour later I had no french fries and we had eaten the rest of our meal. The waitress never came by to see if we need a refill on our drinks the entire time we were there. When she finally did show up at the end she asked if there's anything else. I said my fries would have been nice but I just want my bill. She offered to go get the fries. I said I have already eaten everything else and I just want my bill. It seems to me that the staff is too busy socializing to...

Drove a half hour to go to this place that my friend had raved about. Horrible. The place was busy and maybe they had numerous call offs but not sure. Happened to go on a beer special day- that was cool. But you couldn’t get a second one cause there wasn’t staff to serve you. And if they didn’t recognize your face you were dead to them. I wax ready to leave after waiting 40 minutes yo put in an order but my friend was like just wait you’ll see how the wait us worth it. So we finally placed an order. Mine was a burger. I love burgers and I think that’s a way to judge a new place for me. Cause they’re at least halfway decent or great. Nope I have to say the worst , tasteless burger I think I’ve had. But I could’ve tolerated the tasteless burger but when your server looks at you twice in what became a two hour ordeal and purposely ignores people. That’s a Big no in my book. Will never go back. I’m sure my friend will give them another chance cause that was one of her favorites but I’m not driving that much time for mediocre to bad...
