This is one of my favorite places EVARRR. It’s smack in the middle of a blue collar residential neighborhood and doesn’t look like much from the outside except for its classic green awning with a cool retro “The Cedars” logo on it. That’s it. Very easy to miss, but very hard to forget. Few places like this can be found with both outstanding food and staff that makes it your home the whole time you’re there. I live six hours away and I make it a must to visit here every time I’m in town. The Cedars has been around since 1948 and I can see why. They have a giant menu for a place so small. Staff so greatly proud of where they work. Impeccable ethnic food like chicken and lamb dishes, stuffed grape leaves, and kibbutz with Middle Eastern flair inside of this no-frills small place. I LOVE IT.

Wanted somewhere new to go eat last night and found Cedars on Google. I have a new favorite "dive bar" restaurant now! The service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the Pittsburgh Sandwich (chopped steak) and it was better than Primanti's (I'm craving one now, just thinking about it!) And deep fried green beans, which were super yummy and not soggy, like you usually get at other places...the dipping sauce for the beans (I can't remember what they call it) was delicious! Everything on the menu sounded really good.... I can't wait to go back!

We wanted to try this place after hearing about it from a friend. Our wait person was wonderful. She greeted us with a huge smile and enthusiastic hello. We did not have to wait to be seated, just come on in and find a table we liked. It's a bar atmosphere, but if you don't want to sit by the bar there is a small dining room set away from it. The food was better than bar food and reasonably priced, which in this day and age is refreshing. In all we really liked Cedars, and will definitely be back!

Cedars atmosphere is plain but clean in the dining area but there’s plenty of room at the tables, it’s nice and comfortable. And, while the dining room is a three, the bar is a five. So, a four for atmosphere. The food and service are always great. Can recommend the Lamb Dish and the Cedars Combo both are great. The Lamb Dish has pepper rings in the meal, the mild ones that you usually get in a cup with dinner. Also, a lot of really good melty cheese. Mine was the Cedars Combo. I like cheese, but I like my lamb all lamb, Linda loved her lamb dish with all that cheese. I tasted it, and it was excellent. The combo also has chicken. The chicken was also very good, but really the lamb is the star of this show. And I’ve never had any issues with the lamb here. Wife gets medium, always just pink. I get med rare, and it’s always med rare. The cooks here always mail it. These dinners come with a little cup of garlic sauce. I always use it. The sauce is not garlicky at all. I mean it’s not REALLY garlicky. The bread is a wedge of Syrian loaf. I eat here as often as I eat at Edwards, except Cedars is where I go between the two when I want lamb. Smaller menu, but something for everyone. Oh, and a great selection of draft beer. Everything from PBR to micro brews, and plenty of them. I have never had a bum meal here. Or one that didn’t...

Food was very delicious but service was another story. My first visit there my entire order was wrong so I called back they did not have enough steak to remake the order so he took my info & said for me to call back later in the week & they'd remake my order for free. Well he gave me the wrong name and never put my name & info wherever they keep that kind of thing. So I call today to get my order remade and they took my order but called me back to tell me they didn't have anything on their board in my name. They went on to tell me they didn't have any guys working there that I could have spoke to except in the kitchen. The manager said she would check the schedule with the date and times I gave her and check with the employee. When I get there to pick up the order she was very rude and said that they didn't have anything written on their board for my order to be replaced. Very short and said I had to pay for the order but gave me 1 of the double steak charges for free. I will not ever go back there no matter how the food is! Service is everything and if your people are stuck up and rude and are talking smack about other people when someone enters to pick up their food that all shows poor taste and unprofessional employees. I won't go back and if you like good service with nice staff you won't go...

Arrived just before 5:30pm this evening and it took 20 minutes to even get greeted by the waitress. There were about 5 tables in the dining room so busy, but nothing crazy. Got our beverages then ordered. As time passed the waitress spilled ranch dressing onto the dining room floor right next to our table and after just ignoring it for several minutes, I observed her just smush it into the carpet with her shoe. Didn’t wipe it up, spray it down or anything which was very disturbing. 75 minutes later our table finally received our food. No apologies for the wait or explanation whatsoever. It appeared waitress forgot to put our order in because other tables who arrived after us received their food. When the food finally arrived I got a steak salad which was ok and my daughter got wings which were not very good. Very saucy with little taste. Had to ask repeatedly for refills so service overall was very bad on this night.

Based on poor service, lack of cleanliness inside, and average food we will not be returning to this...
