TAPATIOS FAMILY MEXICAN RESTAURANT — Restaurant in New Castle

I had dinner with my mom last night at this restaurant. in the past year and a 1/2 i have been there and ordered the same thing with no problems. Our waitress could not comprehend or speak good English my food came and it was not what I ordered. I tried to explain this to our waitress and she began to argue with me that I ordered the wrong thing I asked her to bring what I ordered and she walked away without taking my plate. About 5 minutes someone brought over a plate of rice and beans then left. I decided this was close enough and we began to eat my mom food was marginal at best. No one ever came back to check on us later we got the bill and I told my mom I was ot going to leave a tip. She agreed. The bill was 40 dollars and I ended up leaving two dollars we left and I walked my mom to her car. The waitress came running. Out and proceeded to argue with me about a two dollar tip I explained to her or tried that the food and the service was bad she demanded I come back in and speak with the manager and I said no she then told me she was going to call the police all the while refereeing the bill in her hands. I was so angry my mom then came over and told her to get back inside. I will never return there again. I am still in disbelief that...

I had high expectation for this place. Resturant was clean from outside and clean from the inside. Its says family own bussiness so i have it a shot. The tortillas was serve very warm and their salsa thats come with it taste good.thier water/soda Cup was huge. So we refill our drinks just once on our entire course. Food pricing was fair. Then we got our order and we are all dissapointed. Chicken torta, Carne Asada, chicken Mole and their shrimp food was really taste bad. We didnt even finished it and we didnt bother to take it home with us. It was sad because we wanted to support our local bussiness here especially family own bussiness but this is really not it.. maybe if they change their style or their cook, this place has potential. But if not i wouldn't recomend going and eating on this resturant. That will be our first and our last visit...

The positive first! The ceviche that comes with the complimentary chips is pretty great, and the salsa is good too. The meal itself tasted pretty good too, BUT... (here comes the negative) for the price paid, I could've eaten at several local Mexican restaurants and gotten both better service (this was the second attempt to eat here, after being forgotten on a 30 minute wait list for an hour the first time and leaving after being told they skipped my family, but that's another story) AND food, while still spending less. While the price is not enough to say "avoid this place" I WILL say that there are better options nearby that I would prefer to eat...
