Sicily’s Italian Icebox — Restaurant in New Franklin

This place is incredible. It's very unassuming and I think if you weren't aware of it you might miss it, but you need to take a stop here especially during this super hot summer. The Italian ice is delicious, when I decided to stop and try it I didn't have much hope because I was thinking of those Aldi's Italian ice cups we got as a kid from Aldi's that was hard to scrape but this is NOT that! This Italian ice is reminiscent of dole whip/soft serve, not at all like a slushy or snow cone, it is genuinely flavorful and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful, the flavors are theme named after songs and the place itself is just a nice place to go sit and enjoy an icey treat in the insanely hot weather. Italian ice was great. Staff were very friendly. My only issue was the outdoor seating area. They have a huge flower pot with several large plants and more plants planted right beside them. They are beautiful but attract pollinators aka bees. There were lots of them! Made sitting outside unenjoyable. 2 other groups came to sit outside and left within minutes because of the bees, they are serving sugary goodness in a cup after all. It's also very loud being only feet from the road. Especially with all the motorcycles that go through PLX. Hopefully next season they reconsider the flowers and or move the seating down the steps beside...

Super friendly staff, plenty of flavors to choose from, and good pricing for the quantity that you get! I really enjoyed all of the flavors that I had today and liked how many combinations you could create. My only wants would be better seating indoors somehow and sugar free flavors for those who may be diabetic. Overall though, I can certainly say that I'll be back. This is a great business for...
