Went for the soft opening tonight and will absolutely be making this a regular spot. From the beautiful and cozy decor to the mindblowing flavor of their food and mixed drinks, this is 100% a spot to stop when you want something that feels super special, without that super high price tag. Tried the Flor de Menta mixed drink and could've easily had 3 more if I weren't driving. Perfectly balanced and fresh flavor with thoughtful presentation. Same went for the chicken empanadas with white wine sauce, and chips + guac. Well balanced flavor, obviously fresh ingredients, and just the right portions. Went with 2 girlfriends and we all talked about how incredible the white wine sauce that came with the empanadas was the whole way home. And to top it all off, the service was excellent. Very attentive without being pushy and always kept our waters filled. Certainly a promising start for new owners and can't wait to head back and try more!

Oh Bella's how y'all got competition, I THOUGHT Bella's took the win on brunch but this adorable little restaurant less then a block away with their comfy vibe was mint. As soon as I walked in and saw the half empty pastry window and the stand with macaroons I was in pre diabetic heaven, the food clearly has to be fire. We had a Greek omelet, a naked chicken burrito, vanilla latte, macaroons and a Snapple (lol) the people including customers are just so friendly and the adorable lady in the front is so warm and inviting she even zaps all the wasps out like a OG so keep people like me from getting a stroke. I will TOTALLY be back I enjoyed every bit of it there. 10 thumbs up y'all.

We originally planned to eat around the corner at Bella's but they were done seating for the day. So we found this gem serving brunch. My wife and I got mimosas and I got a tasty coffee. She ordered the manjares eggs with mandu, fried eggs and an arepa which were very good. I got the challah french toast with a side of bacon accompanied by pineapple and strawberries. That was fantastic! We sat out front on a beautiful deck area with plants/flowers. The staff was very friendly and they had fun salsa music playing inside to give a vibrant Latin vibe. Really fell in love with this place. Only wish would be to channel some music outside too for that ambiance.

It's really too bad that I have to write this review because their food is great. Unfortunately, great food doesn't make up for extremely poor management and poor training of their service staff. We regularly come here to order egg sandwiches and they're always good. It's usually a little disorganized when we come in, but it's never been as bad as it was today. The first mistake that began the downward spiral was the girl at the counter took our order and wrote it on the same ticket as the customer who ordered before us. When she finished I made sure to clarify that the order on the first half of the ticket was not for us and she said she knew they were separate and would not get confused. We wait about ten minutes and they come out the with the wrong order. We tell them it isn't ours, but the people who ordered before us. Except that they got both orders mixed up and made a combo of the two. So now, both orders for both customers are wrong. Meanwhile, the girl has yet to apologize or come back to double check with us to confirm what we ordered. We just assumed our orders were being remade. FORTY MINUTES later, after customers who arrived after us all received their food, we finally get our egg sandwiches to go. We arrive home only to find out that they were made wrong. We went back to ask for a refund and while we were refunded we didn't receive any type of apology, acknowledgement for their various mistakes or any type of offer to rectify the situation. The girl and a line cook (I assume) laughed when they saw me come back into the restaurant knowing there was something likely wrong with the order. And even after that no apology, just wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible. What was supposed to be a quick and simple thing turned into a wasted hour of our day without getting any food. Extremely disappointing and frustrating. Please train your staff, please don't ever put two separate orders on the same ticket, and please take classes or something to help you learn how to better manage...

Manjares Café in New Haven, Connecticut, is a delightful gem that perfectly blends a cozy atmosphere, flavorful cuisine, and exceptional service. Nestled at 382 West Rock Avenue, this Latin-inspired café offers a variety of fresh and healthy menu options, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

During my visit, I enjoyed a lunch that left a lasting impression. The beef tacos were prepared exactly as I ordered – perfectly seasoned, tender, and served with just the right accompaniments to enhance their flavor. Paired with a vibrant green smoothie, my meal was both satisfying and refreshingly healthy. It’s clear that Manjares takes pride in using high-quality ingredients, with an emphasis on local and organic sourcing.

The menu features a variety of options, from European-style pastries to Spanish-inspired dishes like paella, empanadas, and tapas. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or looking for a full meal, there’s something for everyone. The café’s ability to cater to different dietary preferences is another highlight, as their offerings include a wide range of healthy and flavorful choices.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Manjares is warm and inviting. The staff are friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home. The café’s location near Edgewood Park adds to its charm, offering a scenic backdrop for outdoor seating.

Manjares isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a community hub where excellent food, thoughtful service, and a pleasant ambiance come together seamlessly. Whether you’re a local or just passing through New Haven, I highly recommend visiting Manjares for a dining experience that is both comforting...

I just left Manjares in Westville and my entire experience was horrible. This was my first (and last) time there, and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to order at the counter or sit. I couldn't really distinguish who was working there, since the girl was sitting at the back counter with what seemed to be her friend. After awkwardly standing at the counter for a moment, the girl finally broke off her conversation with the other woman to acknowledge me. I asked a few questions about the food at the counter before ordering and the girl seemed annoyed with me right away. She served me my tea, and I took it back to my seat with me. I got up again to get honey or raw sugar for my tea. It was at a counter in the back where the girl who worked there was chatting with the other woman, who I thought was her friend, but after reading some of the other reviews, I figured she must be the owner. I was standing there trying to find honey when the woman asked if she could help me. Confused as to why the barista's friend would offer help, I asked for honey and the girl handed me Agave Nectar. Definitely not the same thing. My food came out quickly, and it was so gross. It was totally flavorless. I had their arepas, which were more like polenta, but really bland. Their bacon was undercooked and unreasonably greasy. The entire experience was really bad, from start to finish. I just wanted to leave. From the unfriendly, snobby service, the horribly bland food, to the terrible stomach ache I am now suffering, it was an overall bad experience and I wish I had gone to...
