Slice Pizza Bar — Restaurant in New London

I'll be fair and start by saying that the food here is excellent. Pizza is yummy and grinders are also delicious. Their customer service is really lacking tho! I used to order from here a few times a week, but since my last experience I can say that I'm done with this business. I placed a delivery order at 4pm on a Monday and had to call twice just to check on it, when it finally arrived after 6pm. Usually I don't complain, like I said, I ordered from Slyce almost too often.. but the food was ice cold. When I called go see what could be done as we had waited so long to eat our dinner, we were told that the driver was actually the manager they would call me when he returned to the shop. If the driver was the manager, it doesn't say much that he would serve cold food after such a long wait. When the service girl called me back, she offered to refund my money and I said ok. She said they would return for the pizza (we hadn't touched) which we thought was odd and she started laughing saying we couldn't just keep the food for free.. so I advised her to come get the pizza. Well, after all that.. they never did come get the pizza. Sidenote: know that if you order from Slyce, they charge you $4 more than your bill without telling you. Has happened with all my orders. So, now we are ordering from Wings and Pies -- way better, and fast service! They didn't have onion rings so immediately called me back offering to upgrade to chili cheese fries and were super apologetic. Now that's customer service! Go to Wings and...

We had been loyal costumers for 5 years, ordering at least three times a month. They used to have the best bbq chicken pizza, but the last two times this month the food we ordered for pick up and delivery was not good at all. The first time, the bbq chicken pizza just had burnt cut up pieces of chicken tender, burnt bacon, very little bbq sauce, no onion and no cheese; we didn’t realize it until we got to our destination after picking it up. We gave it another chance and ordered delivery last night for our kids and their sitter, we ordered bbq chicken pizza……no bacon, no onion, almost no cheese, a lot of buffalo sauce with bbq sauce on top, and burnt cut up chicken tenders…it was inedible, specially that mixture of buffalo and bbq sauce…chicken tenders and fries for the kids were almost inedible as well as they were burnt. Definitely a long way from what they used to serve...

Far and away, this is THE BEST takeaway food I've ever ordered. First of all, Slice has NEVER gotten an incorrect order on my deliveries--they remember the soda, the sides, the extras... EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Second, the food shows up HOT--it hasn't been sitting around for half an hour or more. . Most importantly, however, the food here is AWESOME!!

The chicken cutlets, no matter what dish you order them in, are like your Nonna pounded nd fried them herself. The Philly Chicken sandwich is probably the best sandwich I've ever had. The (XL) Meat Lovers pizza tastes like I died and went to New Haven Pizza Heaven.

Finally--you get all this at a student's price point--I can afford this , especially with their daily deals, any day of the week.
