Somebody needs to do some thing with this place. This is an old historic mill, in New London Connecticut. It is being allowed to fall apart. The street people, And the attics in the area love to frequent this place. It’s a shame to see an old historic site like this go into such disrepair. They should either restore it or have it moved somewhere else, or give them to somebody that will give it some love. Hard to get to, no place to park,And sketchy people hanging out. Be safe when you try to see this place.

The Old Town Mill was originally built in 1650 by John Winthrop Jr., the founder of New London and later the Governor of Connecticut. Listed on the National Historic Register, the Mill is one of the oldest industrial sites in Connecticut. On September 6, 1781, General Benedict Arnold burned the mill down during his raid on New London. The mill was rebuilt soon after on the original site.

370 years of history, hidden under the towering I-95 travel lanes. Unfortunately, the mill building was locked with no signage as to 'open' hours. Still, a nice peaceful place to sit down, listen to the running water and reflect on the past.

In town for training and did some sightseeing. Thought this would be a place to see. The mill and a small area around it looked really nice. However it is located under a couple interstate bridges, the surrounding area is overgrown and not maintained, and there were homeless people all around the area. This was very...
