On this 14th of February 2024, amidst the snowy embrace of New Hampshire, we embarked on a journey with our son, venturing to a friend's antique shop about an hour away from our VRBO stay. As we made our return, we found a charming breakfast spot discovered through Mr . Google. There, nestled in the wintry air, I felt as though we had stepped into a scene from a timeless romance. With Valentine's Day lending an extra touch of enchantment, every moment felt like a cherished memory in the making. Upon entering, we were enveloped in warmth, greeted by the cozy ambiance that defines local establishments in this picturesque corner of the world. Adorned with whimsical artwork featuring chickens and cows, the restaurant exuded a rustic charm that captivated our hearts. Despite the brief wait, the anticipation only added to the allure of the experience. Amidst the eclectic decor of a few farm animasl, we encountered a humorous diversion in the form of bathroom signs with titles that left me chuckling, a reminder of the delightful quirks encountered when navigating in a language not native to my own. Turning our attention to the culinary delights awaiting us, I indulged in a stack of "cakes," three sumptuous pancakes that promised to tantalize the taste buds. Opting for the rich, organic maple syrup, I savored each bite, though wishing for an extra drizzle to complete the culinary symphony. Despite the indifferent demeanor of our server, I reveled in the decadent flavors, choosing to immerse myself in the moment rather than risk disrupting the delicate balance, so I didn’t ask for more syrup. Meanwhile, my beloved delighted in the generous proportions of an egg sandwich, its hearty allure a testament to the culinary prowess of this hidden gem. Sipping on a glass of milk, I couldn't help but smile, imagining how a touch of warmth would have elevated the experience even further. As we bid farewell to this place , with bellies content and hearts full, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the moments shared with the one I love on this special...
Read moreI love Tucker's & recently posted a review for their Concord location. This is for the New London location. Everything is still superb when it comes to the food & service. Tucker's absolutely excels at the "alternative" menu choices [vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian] & that's the #1 reason I am such a fan. I'm only a vegetarian, which is probably the easiest of those 3 alternative lifestyles, yet I struggle & am forever frustrated with the lack of choices at the average restaurant, whether it's a chain/franchise or independent, it seems to me that SALAD is the go-to "of course we have vegetarian options" menu choice. I do not, have not, EVER gone out to eat thinking, "boy, I can't wait to order a salad". It's weak, it's a slap in the face, and it's LAZY. Never mind the fact that a lot of salads nowadays have some sort of meat product thrown in (shrimp, chicken, steak, tuna). It's just really annoying & I can't imagine what it's like for a vegan. So when I discover a place like Tucker's, who has a VAST menu with option for all kinds of people, it's truly thrilling & I want to tell the world! And their menu will more than satisfy all the carnivores & omnivores as well. This places wins gold in all categories. My only word of warning, specifically for the New London location: They are very busy & you're going to have to wait for a table if you go during peak times. The wait can be extensive on the weekends, up to 45 minutes or more. It's best to try and sneak in during the lulls, if you can. But once you're in --- mmm-mm! Get ready to enjoy mouthful after mouthful of...
Read moreReally love going here for breakfast when I’m in town. The quality is in a different league to anywhere for several miles around.
Staff range from very good to incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food and drink is great. They went above and beyond by proactively making a new drink for one of us when they spotted that it wasn’t to our liking, and followed up to make sure we were all happy.
They’re almost too successful for their own good - wait times can be quite long and there isn’t really sufficient space for more than a couple of groups of people to wait. Unfortunately the buzzer they give you to call you when your table’s ready doesn’t seem to have a very long range, so it’s a bit of a conundrum where to wait at peak times.
In any case, they were very helpful and accommodated us quickly as possible. None of this is their fault as they’re working with limited space, but worth considering if you’re in a rush.
If they ever get the chance to extend into new areas of this arty little mall, without sacrificing cosiness or quality, that...
