I don't often complain about bad restaurant experiences, nor am I a chef. However, I know good food when I taste it and the food I got last night unfortunately wasn't. As I'm writing this I've realized I have no idea where to start, so at the beginning it is. We'll use a bullet system with categories and I'll rate them out of ten with an explanation of my rating. • Service 9/10 I always seem to have great service when the food is trash. My significant other and I were seated in a timely manner and taken care of well throughout our time in the restaurant. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and respectful. •Apps 1/10 From the get go I noticed the menu was a mess and it almost seemed the restaurant couldn't decide what kind of cuisine it was. Looking through the mess of a menu, I decided on a side of tempura chicken. I know it was a side and not an app, but what I got could barely be called either. For one it was just a bowl of tastless "tempura" style chicken (I put that it quotes because it's an insult to call it tempura)because it unseasoned. The duck sauce that came with it was disgusting, I really have no idea how to describe it other than that. • Entrees 1/10 As I typed that word a repressed anger serged forth from my soul. "Why?" You may ask, Because it brought me back to the infuriating moment I received my burger. I ordered it medium, which would seem to be a simple task, but not in this restaurant. The burger was a barely-passable rare, with flavors that consisted of nothing with slight hint of bland.
To continue this review would mean sitting here for another hour, so I shall cut it short. Somehow after crunching the numbers in my head the service was unsurprisingly the only thing that earned it stars. In closing I am pressed to admit that taste is subjective.... But cooking a burger medium...
Read moreThis review is hard for me to make since on some level I understand it is maybe unfair, but my specific issue is very hard to overlook. I have gone to this restaurant twice with family for a holiday meal. The food was good, and I had no complaints about the service. However, a family member of mine is wheelchair bound and attempting to get in and out of the bathroom was frustrating and embarrassing. The bathroom is oddly narrow and cramped, and the hallway to get into it is similarly unhelpful from the position of a wheelchair. This entire affair was made more complicated by the fact there was only one bathroom per gender, and that we would essentially need to block the bathroom off to get my family member in and out. I would be surprised if there is not some kind of code that is being violated. I asked the employees if there was a staff bathroom of some sort but they said there was not. On the second trip we came to the somewhat humiliating conclusion that it would be far easier for my family member to get in the car and relieve themself there instead of trying to get into the bathroom again (the restaurant was much busier this time).
I cannot in good faith recommend this restaurant to anyone who has any sort of mobility aid or intends to take someone with a mobility aid. I would suggest at minimum scoping them out first. I was last there in 2023, if this issue has been remedied then I will be happy to remove this review. Otherwise I cannot overlook this despite...
Read moreLeaving a funeral and our way home, deciding to eat here ended up being a very disappointing and racist experience with our waitress, Marlin. She described and offered us a dish that was completely different from what she actually brought. When I told her it wasn’t what I expected, her response was shocking: she told us not to complain because “kids in Africa don’t have food.”
This response was extremely inappropriate, insensitive, and unprofessional, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, she handed one of the plates (with potatoes) to another one of our guests, and when one of the potatoes fell onto the tray while she handle it to him, she sarcastically asked if they wanted that one too, because “the dish is expensive.” From the dirty tray.
When we asked for A1 sauce for the filet mignon, she simply said they didn’t have any—offering no alternatives and showing no willingness to help.
On top of that, she wait for everyone to finish eating—she removed each plate the moment someone was done, which made one of our guests feel rushed and unable to finish his meal comfortably.
This experience made us feel deeply disrespected, and there were clear signs of discriminatory treatment. We came as paying customers expecting good service, and instead we were met with hostility. There was no manager or employee in sight to report any of this at the...
