Great experiences every time we come! NLBT enjoys very advanced casts and production resources for such a small community theatre. I come from Salisbury, NC where I used to be the manager at their Black Box Theatre (now Lee St. Theatre). The highly-rated theatre arts program at our local Catawba College gives our community a very rich pool of talent to draw from, but I know what sorts of challenges are involved with successfully delivering a consistently solid performance, even if you have access to some of the industry's best and brightest. It shows a highly adept management and staff that can wield limited resources effectively, as well as solve problems and meet challenges creatively. Read moreBe careful about the seat you purchase. We have paid full price two different times only to see partial stage. Also, the last show Above the Pub, my 84 year old mother fell through an 18" deep spacing between the riser and the level in front of us. The patrons sitting near the spacing, did not make any attempt to allow her to go to her seat until she dropped into the space all the way up to her knee or better. There was no indication the dead space was there, nor warnings from the ushers. So beware a $34 ticket doesn't mean a good seat or safe...
Read moreThe Barn is a classic summer theater venue, excellent in all aspects of casting and production. Great outdoor season under a tent in the summer of 2021 at Colby Sawyer College. Looking forward to seeing all the upgrades in the Barn theatre being done during the pandemic. The theater is small with a loyal following and generally well attended, so it's best to get tickets well in advance; you might get lucky with a last-minute plan, but give them a call before you show up in hopes of getting tickets...
