My husband and I went to The Italian Job for dinner while on vacation. We were greeted right away. There was only one other table with 2 customers at that time. A server came and took our drink order, and then our dinner choices. Soon after, our dinner arrived, with exactly two pieces of bread. I had ordered the chicken and shrimp rigatoni. I've never seen the tails left on shrimp in a dish of that type, but it was good. The chicken was tough, hard to chew though. I really enjoyed the sauce, so I wanted a spoon to scoop it up, and we both wanted more bread, which was really good. Neither of us had seen any servers in a while. I kept turning around and looking towards the counter but saw no one for almost 10 minutes. The people at the other table had left, and a different group came in. Finally, I got up and went to the counter. A lady showed up and asked what I needed. I asked for a spoon and more bread, because both of us liked it. I heard her say something to the kitchen about bread. I sat back down and resumed my dinner. After several more minutes a lady got up from the second group and walked by. I had seen her sit there a while back. I thought maybe she worked in the kitchen and was on a break. I was shocked to realize it was our server. She had been facing in my direction the whole time she was sitting at that table. She had to see me looking for a server, and going to the counter for service. Unbelievable. She was the only server we saw. We finished our dinner soon after we realized we were not going to get any more bread, and that no one was coming to see if we needed any more drinks, any dessert, anything at all. When we checked out I told them to thank the kitchen for the bread we never received. I also mentioned that the chicken was tough, hard to eat. No one said anything, no apologies. I also said I was going to order dessert. Again, nothing was said. We haven't had service that poor in a long time. The food is probably okay for delivery, but I will never go back to...
Read moreFirst off, I gave a one star only because I couldn't give a zero star. We are here on our anniversary trip, we wanted Italian and this place is what google suggested. Should have read the reviews, our first mistake. Hubs ordered the Italian job pasta (sorry, no pics. I normally take pics of new places but I was too furious). It looked good. The sauce was very watery and didn't have a lot of flavor, had to add salt. He didn't even finish it (and that's not normal for him). The salads beforehand consisted of lettuce, lots of green pepper, banana peppers and onions (which the waitress said there wasn't any) and a quarter size tomato slice. All I had left after taking off what I didn't want I was the lettuce and dressing and I didn't even eat it. I had ordered the baked ziti (sorry, no pic). There was nothing baked about it. It looked like ziti noodles on a plate with tomato soup made with milk as the sauce and a slice of process cheese melted on top. I didn't eat that either. The waitress, who was new, didn't even come back to check on us after bringing our main dishes despite having to walk past our table several times to get to her other tables. I had to go to the register to ask for the manager who I was told was on a delivery and wouldn't be back for another 25 minutes. So I explained the situation to the other waitress and I told her I wasn't going to pay for what we didn't eat. We did pay for hub's meal only because he ate half of it. As I was explaining to the other waitress our situation, our waitress was standing very close by and could hear the conversation but didn't acknowledge or apologize for anything. I did not leave a tip. We would never go back or recommend anyone else to go even if it was the last...
Read moreReviews: Italian Job New Market, Virginia. December 30, 2024 We were on a long trip back from Mississippi to Massachusetts and we stopped by this small town of New Market in Virginia. We were hungry, it was late and it was the night before New Year's eve. Not much seemed open. We found a GODFATHER'S PIZZA but it looked pretty shady, in a gas station and all. So we went around a bit more and we had already had too much fast food and we were heading soon to a hotel. I looked on our app and found one place that looked half way decent plus we loved the movie ITALIAN JOB. Well we found the Italian Job and Melissa helped us. We found a deal on the door as we walked in and grabbed a large drink and got a two topping pizza. We sat for a while and waited as we recovered from driving and talked about what we had just done in Mississippi. Locals were there eating and having a good time too. We had ordered a large 2 topping pizza with Pepperoni and onions. The pizza came and we chowed down. We were hungry and couldn't gone for another large but we didn't. It was probably the best deal we had for food in the entire trip! We all ate and drank and spent 8 cents UNDER 20 bucks! Amazing. Parking was easy. Our little one has a food allergy and we didn’t have any issues at all! Thank you Italian Job! What a...
