Just found a jewel near the bayou. Me and relatives wanted a drink after a Friday outing. Some1 searched bars near us, and we headed that direction. After passing the bridge construction and potholes on the nearby street, sat a little unassuming bar with indoor and outdoor accommodations. We stayed inside and viewed the game. I got rum punch another a margarita. Both nice and tasty. Our 3rd person wanted food. The sharable portions were just what we needed. I ventured out to the Xmas lit - gravel filled courtyard and chilled a bit til my people looked around. It was late nite and chill. U will love the atmosphere. Bartender Ally catered to us with a few song selections. She made the nite. E n j o y Give this review 5 🌟 's

My dad and I stopped in during our vacation to New Orleans. We were looking for a fun, but quiet wine bar that would give us a break from the exhilerating chaos of the French Quarter/Bourban Street, and this was just the place! The wine selection was fantastic. The bordeoux I chose was wonderful, and our bartender was fantastic. He was engaging, kind, and knowledgable about the area. My dad and shared a ceaser salad as a little midday snack and it was really good. The croutons were buttery, crunchy and light, and the romaine was very crispy and fresh. We fell in love with the winery's atmosphere and all the side stuff it has to offer. It is a great gem and totally worth the drive.

Drinks were good. Cute atmosphere. But, they should take Brussels off the menu until they find someone who can cook them. The sautéed ones were raw. We couldn't even stick a fork in them. We asked for fried ones instead and they were so burned they were completely black. The waitress apologize and asked the girl whose meal it was if she wanted a drink (as if to make up for it).. of course the drink was on the bill. Not to mention, the steak was cold (but great flavor) by the time it got to us (we sat inside so not a far walk) and the potatoes were dry. Cute ambiance. Great drinks, but other than that, the food is mediocre at best.

I’ve always enjoyed this place, but after experiencing blatant racism tonight, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere—Wrong Iron and other establishments will be getting my support instead. My friend and I were waiting at the bar when Norma, the bartender, completely ignored us. A white woman walked up a few minutes after us, and Norma immediately greeted her with a friendly “Hey!” The woman asked about beer on tap, and Norma answered before moving down the bar, greeting another group of white women with, “I’ll be right with you.” Meanwhile, we were still standing there, unacknowledged.

It wasn’t until the manager walked in that Norma even acknowledged our presence—she pointed us out, and he came over with a curt, “What can I help you with?” After waiting for so long, I explained our experience with Norma. We were still willing to order, but instead of addressing the issue, he dismissively responded, “Well, I’m here now, so?” No apology. No accountability. Just indifference.

This is not the level of service I’ve experienced here before, and it’s unacceptable in a city as diverse as New Orleans. My friends and I—many of us educators—frequent BBG and BWG regularly, especially during crawfish season. But tonight, the lack of acknowledgment for the discrimination we faced made it clear that our presence isn’t valued. He tried to not give us our money back for the food we ordered, but we are not spending money in places that do not value us.

As we were leaving and sharing our experience, someone remarked, “Oh, they’re always like that over there.” That says...

Good spot when it's later than most places stay open. About 10:30 in the evening and the patio was lively and about half a dozen people inside at the bar. Had a couple of glasses of wine on tap. Wanted to try a glass before committing to it, and was offered a taste. My guess is it's not a popular wine, because the taste I got was extremely warm. When wine is on tap, the first couple of ounces have been sitting in the hose, and should be discarded if the wine hasn't been served in a while. We wanted the mussels, but were unavailable. It's hard to get certain seafood items during certain times of the year. The shrimp ceviche was very good, especially on a hot summer night. The tenders and fries, which were chosen in place of the mussels was a very large portion. The cauliflower taco was very good. Frankly, the only thing I would change is to cut the florets in half if they are going to be to 'rare'. The cauliflower was still crunchy, almost raw, which made folding the taco shell around it impossible. The taco was delicious. A couple of glasses of wine, a plate and two apps was just $56. Overall, a...

Super Bowl Sunday. Thought this Bar would be the perfect place for locals to watch the big game hosted in our city... big mistake. While the food from Bayou Beer Garden was phenominal as always, and was served quickly, given the gameday crowd, the atmosphere was severely lacking. With the change in weather to rain, it's expected to have some patrons come in and take shelter. However, to allow several people to come inside, take up person space of those at seated at tables, and smoke inside is a different story. Also very disappointed in their decision, and to stand on their decision, to wait until kickoff to turn on the sound for the game, even when multiple patrons asked for them to turn off the music and put on the sound. Missed all of the pregame acknowledgements, celebrations, and performances. Even when the game officially started the sound didn't come on until the middle of the 1st Quarter, but my group and I had already decided to take the 2 block walk in the rain, to leave and watch it at home.

This whole experience was extremely disappointing, especially since I've been there before for LSU and...
