I came in yesterday knowing more or less what I wanted and needed, but still had some questions and needed solid sales advice on which option would be the truly better deal. The sales associate who helped me (I forgot to ask his name at the time, but I found it on the receipt listed as Reginald) was kind, honest, efficient, helpful, and was clearly observing responsible COVID-19 safety precautions. He answered my many questions knowledgeably and without pressure to up-sell (which I pay attention to, because I absolutely HATE when sales people can’t read a customer well enough to know that pushing an up-sell would be ineffective and/or unethical for their situation). He also priced out all the sales/online price-match options that were possible, which made my purchase even more affordable. I feel very satisfied with my buying experience, and I’m glad I purchased from my local, neighborhood Mattress Firm office (the hope being that it will result in the survival of jobs/businesses/economic circulation HERE, in my community, and any well-deserved sales commissions Reginald can continue to accrue.) MATTRESS FIRM—you DO pay your sales reps FAIR AND AMPLE commissions on the great profits they generate for you, RIGHT? Please do respond directly to this review with that information. I’d also hate to hear from any Black sales people or other sales reps of color (or any women) that they do not receive the SAME, FAIR, AMPLE COMMISSIONS that you surely provide to your white male sales associates (which you DO provide, RIGHT?) ...
Read moreWonderful wonderful experience. The other night my fiancé and I woke up with achy backs and overall soreness. I decided it was time to get a new mattress, no questions about it! We could feel the mattress wearing down over time, springs creaking, slowly sinking in.. We learned our lesson on buying a cheap mattress to move in with— it’s not worth it! We arrived to Mattress Firm yesterday morning and was immediately greeted by Gerron with kindness and a genuine willingness to help solve our problem. Quite frankly that’s rare to find in New Orleans! We already knew that we wanted the Tempur Pedic mattress, we liked it’s ability to move the head, foot and vibrate!! Gerron relayed to us that he himself had the same issues previously and purchased the mattress that he and his wife were more than pleased with. When the numbers ran back, we learned we would not be able to get that exact mattress; Gerron didn’t stop working to make us happy! He went back crunched more numbers, found us a similar bed (Serra Hybrid) for a better price with the adjustable Tempur Pedic base, giving us all the functionality we desired! It was so astonishing having another genuine person in the sales industry not hard up about making sales but more so customer retention and SATISFACTION! Read moreThis is a pre-covid 19 review. Mr. Lewis gave great advice and was patient as we went back and forth trying to find the right mattress. Unfortunately, delivery was a nightmare. They were supposed to remove our old mattress and box spring but refused. They said to put it on the curb for the trash! Mr. Lewis was rude and demeaning when I called for help. He said that most people"take good care of their mattresses and keep them covered." Excuse me? Did our mattress have some stains, yes. Out of the ordinary? No. We have kids and dogs. It didn't occur to me, until after I sent them packing with the new bed, that maybe the problem could be solved if I put some kind of covering on the old mattress. Isn't it THEIR job to solve the problem for the customer? Evidently NOT at the Mattress Firm! I called back, and only then did Mr. Lewis say that we could have purchased a plastic mattress cover for the old mattress so their employees would take it! Now, if there's a problem removing old mattresses, why not tell the customer at the time of the sale that the old mattress needs to be wrapped? Better yet, send the customer home with a bed bag! Nope, not the Mattress Firm. I ended up spending $60 on mattress covering and tape. I was told that the delivery fee would be refunded. It never was. I can't even get a call back from management.
