We visited to this place to eat last week with some family members that came to visit from north Louisiana and we thought the food was ok/good. The waitress was very blunt and had a weird attitude. We still ate our food and left. Before our family members decided to leave town we decided to give this place another go and so we went back for a second shot and this time we had a different waitress and from the moment we entered the restaurant she was giving us some weird stares. She would constantly/frequently look at us with her other waitress friend and then look at each other and start talking and laughing and sometimes would just have the "Ugh hurry up and eat your food and get out of here so we can close up the restaurant and go home" type of faces. Very rude once again. We felt super uncomfortable.. Then when it came time to order, my wife ordered the chips that come in the basket with salsa on top of them and the waitress told her "sorry but we don't serve those after 8 pm". But when my wife replied back to her and told her that we just came to eat here a few days back and that when we ordered them last time is was way past 8pm and they still served them to us she said "ok whatever I'll go and out the order in".. Which we also thought was super rude. When our food came out my sister's food was very and I mean very salty as if they dipped the entire plate is sea water and served it to her. So she had to call the waitress back so she could do something about it and she did but also with an attitude and then she went back around the bar to talk with the other waitress about what just happened and give us weird stares. I ordered the same platter that I ordered a few days back and it was a lot smaller compared to the first time. There was a lot of things missing from the plate but at this time I didn't even want to complain anymore I just wanted to eat my food and get out. The rest of the family did not like their platters nor enjoy them. We all thought the food consistency was flat out terrible. And of top of everything else, these people don't even accept cards. So this goes out to the owner of this place, I don't know what you got going on there dude but I promise you that if u make that small investment in this device called a credit card machine or a POS that you will start to see a somewhat of an increase in return. We are in America and none the less we are in 2018 and I don't know if you know this or not but a lot of people don't just carry cash of them that much anymore. For God sake if you are going to charge people cash ONLY then put a damn ATM machine in the place so people don't have to go across the street to the gas station to get the cash. Horrible food and horrible service = perfect recipe for disaster. In other words your restaurant will not stay in business for to much longer. We will not come back to eat here end...
Read moreIf you are in the "greater New Orleans area," and find yourself looking for authentic Central America-type food outside of the usual Kenner area, then you're in for a BIG, slightly hidden, unexpected surprise in the New Orleans East area at Casa Honduras. The menu is big and includes all the usual fare, with a Honduran accent of course. The food is consistently delicious and fresh. The soups and seafood dishes are always available. Tortillas are home cooked. Nothing disappoints. The service is even good, in a Latin American kind of way---which means, don't expect American type service. All authentic Spanish restaurants have really bad service. People hang around a good 30minutes after they eat, watch the Tv; there is NO hurry here. On weekends, there are bands late at night and the restaurant becomes a club in true Latin...
Read moreBeing part Hispanic I pride myself on enjoying Mexican food. The place was pretty bare bones. Had loud music booming throughout the entire visit. The menu had very few items I could relate to and the tacos I ordered were very small, the chips & salsa sprinkled with some kind of cheese product were stale, over saturated with some kind of salsa making the chips half stale & half limp. The spices were not traditional seasonings. Rather bland. Tacos were ala carte sides were extra with no lettuce but served with chorizo with I ordered without. Side was very small for the price and cold.
The gal who served me was barely able to understand me but was very nice doing her best to provide a pleasant experience. The tacos were okay but very small for the price & the fillings were very sparse. Tasted okay but nothing to...
