Okay, so I've gone to many Dairy Queen's so I think a comparison is doable. Out in the country where New Prague Dairy Queen is, is a big deal. We don't have a lot of options around for ice cream delights by drive through and pick up, and I know the ice cream business is mostly a seasonal thing, but this one serves food too! That's also a big deal here. It may explain why the buster bars & cakes don't have as much fudge & peanuts? The food is good fast food with salad options and their not shy about lettuce, tomatoes & serving portions. The blizzards are sweet. Too sweet, and again not enough of the old fashioned basics like chocolate & fudge, nuts & whipped cream. My favorite is the old fashioned banana splits. I wonder if the sweet is coming from natural pure cane sugar, or those fake sweeteners? I don't know if it's just me, but the blizzards and the like are just way too sweet for me. My family love's the blizzards, I don't, so I'll keep getting my banana splits & the food. Any salads, burger, chicken, etc. baskets are good food at a great value. I prefer the buster bars in Faribault, but we can't make it home without them melting so we have to eat them there. It's the only area I feel the New Prague, Mn Dairy Queen needs to improve. Everything...
Read moreI have been a patron of the New Prague, MN Dairy Queen on and off for over 5 years. I need to take the time to review the cost and product making quality, I am only giving 1 star rating because the review site will not let me give a zero rating. The staff at this DQ are poorly trained or lack training as exemplified in the poorly made blizzards. They are not stirred to the bottom, I have often returned to get them stirred completely - WHY can't the staff to make novelties to DQ standards? The straw that broke the camels back and has caused me to never return to this New Prague DQ is the amount they raised the price, the cost increase is about 35% and significantly higher then the going rate in the Twin Cities DQ's. Not only have they raised the cost but now charging for "pup cups" $2 bucks for 2 tables spoons of soft serve. I have been a patron of DQ for over 5 decades - that's right FIVE DECADES from Minnesota to Texas and never have I seen a cost increase and such poor quality at any store. I will never return to the New...
Read moreI have had varied experiences here.
Sometimes great, but more so than not they: either forget an item overcharge you undercharge you (you want a medium but they give you a small instead and charge you for that small... but you REALLY wanted to be charged for a medium and get a medium!!) provide poor customer service forget condiments you asked for not fill up containers with as much as they are supposed to have (this happens a lot... and I used to work at Dairy Queen!!!... so I know!!!) And etcetera.
I'm a restaurant manager... so maybe I expect too much?.. but, it's nothing that the owners probably wouldn't expect of their employees to provide us, their...
