This is my review from 2 years ago. Nothing's changed unfortunately. I have been to Izzy's @four times over the last year, HOPING it will be decent. It's not. I went today @1pm bc my daughter wanted some ice cream. When I told my wife we were eating there she said "Oh no. They were horrible last time". I do want it to be good. But even the guy who gave it a "2" was generous for being "convenient". The only thing convenient is that it's two doors from the 7-11. The counter girl (who also served ice cream) said it would take 30 minutes which it did (35mins). Which is surprising since there were only seven orders and one call-in during the hour I was there. One woman arrived, the call-in, interjected that orders take so long bc they are prepared to order and that this place is THE best place around to eat. She must not get out much. Nothing is "made to order". U pick from the photos on the wall...kind of like a bad Chinese restaurant. I ordered the Surfer burrito and an order of fries. It was a medium size paninni-pressed style burrito. Flavorless. Actually made me a little nauseous. Usually after waiting so long I'm so hungry I'd like most anything! Unfortunately I was disappointed again. Despite having two cooks and two order takers (back and forth to the ice-cream window) at the counter this place baffles me at the lack of execution. I believe one of the cooks was an owner. You would think they could get this out in less than five minutes especially based on the slop they consistently serve me. I saw what looked to be quality produce being delivered. But whatever happens between delivery to the restaurant and delivery to the customer it's not good. The fries were decent thin cut and warm, but the ketchup tasted slightly spoiled. There really seems to be nothing of quality here. Everything is a shortcut. The ice cream is soft serve mix and inconsistent and the "lemonade slushie" is country time mix. Everything from start to finish is a hack job. They really need some help. If you're underage and want a couple Coors Lights they apparently don't card as I saw today... so...

Read moreI only took a star off because of portion size and wait time. Aside from those two little issues, the food was really good and tasted fresh. The family had bowls of different types and were all happy with the flavor, but the one thing we all thought was that the portion sizes were a little on the small side, especially with the protein. There wasn’t much chicken or fajita meat on the bowls at all. What was there, though, was really tasty. They’re obviously a popular spot, so you can tell they seem to suffer a bit from small staff and small kitchen, because the wait times to get your food was about 30+ minutes after ordering. They did communicate that, though, to their credit. Not really their fault, in that they don’t have a big kitchen, but with their prime location and popularity, it does take a little away from the experience.
All said, I’d come again, but might try calling ahead to place an order, if they do that. Were it my restaurant, I’d beef up the protein size just a tad, especially for the price, and maybe hope to be able to use my popularity and quality food to secure a location with a bigger kitchen and a few more people staff-wise. Other than that, just know that you will get good food at a fair price. You just might still be a little hungry afterward and have to wait a little longer than most...
