Dairy Queen — Restaurant in New Trier Township

It seems like the children working here need to be taught how to treat people with kindness and respect by their employer and their parents. Pulled up with 10 teens sitting in the front two parking areas at almost 10:30 at night(nice parenting). The parking in back was pitch black, so not parking there, had to then park at building next door. When my girlfriend and I started walking around fence to the door, one of the employees looked at us and then hurried to turn the light off outside. When we tried to open the door, the other employee said they were closed. I found that to be so absolutely disrespectful and rude of the both of them seeing as there was still 8 kids by the front counter. Absolute chaos inside. No clear line, just people pushing till they get to the front. Dirtiest location we’ve been. Used to be calm and fairly fast lines a few years back even in heat of summer, but they ditched the drive through window and the treats now are made sloppily. The soft serve isn’t chilled well, so it collapses into soup before leaving the place.

Not going again cuz we gave it one last chance and in addition to the madness inside, the counters were disgusting. When we got outside I discovered the employee sat my cup in someone’s old chewing gum! Appetite officially lost! Even if I’d wanted to eat my sundae, half had melted off by the time we got to our car. It was sticky insanity trying to clean up the mess from the underchilled ice cream....

Disappointed. Waited about 30 minutes to place an order. I understand it was busy but they were not prepared for it. Apparently, it was extra cost to add a small amount of additional whipped cream, which already comes with a Sundae. The ice cream was partially melted when I received it. I was not offered any type of container for the 2 sundaes. After the short ride home, the ice cream had melted so much that it dripped inside the car which I then had to clean. I put what was left of the 2 sundaes in the freezer so we could eat them. I give 3 stars because the staff was very friendly, in spite of being so busy. And it is Dairy Queen. I will likely avoid this location...
