Aseer Juice Time - Papa Kanafa — Restaurant in New York

Juice Time & Papa Kanafa is a Kuwaiti franchise and now it’s in the Bronx! They offer a wide variety of drinks, milkshakes, ice cream, and other desserts.

I love the colorful theme, wall art, and overall decor! I’ve come here to pick up goodies a few times and this place has so much potential. The following feedback rant is based on me and my family’s tastes.

Recommend: Emperor Mango Mix (mango with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce) is amazing. Chocolate Puffs (topped with chocolate, pistachio, and lotus sauces) are so yummy! Loved the consistency of the puffs! Dubai Strawberry Cup with kunafa, pistachio, milk chocolate, and a drizzle of pistachio sauce. Love it! Dubai Chocolate Mini Bar is really good.

Good: Largest Dubai Chocolate. The flavor is there, but I personally enjoyed the mini bar’s texture more. Hanan Mix is 5 brownies with different sauces, white chocolate, milk chocolate, lotus, pistachio, mixed toppings. Honestly could be better, but it’s good. I personally didn’t like the mixed one. Pistachio Ice Cream Lotus Ice Cream Snickers Milkshake Maares (Bridal) Mix is a mango, strawberry, avocado mixed with ice cream and pomegranate seeds. I liked it overall, but the avocado is an acquired taste which caught me off guard a few times.

Needs to improve: Milky Kanafa is kunafa topped with ice cream (I believe) which is topped with lotus, chocolate, and pistachio. I love kunafa and this one didn’t have its original sauce (sha’eera/شعيرة) which took away 80% of its flavor.

One final criticism: the menu needs to have descriptions of what the items are, especially for uniquely named ones like Emperor. I had to ask the cashier for guidance.

I've been here twice now, and unfortunately, they’ve missed the mark both times. My first issue is with the menu—it has no descriptions of what you’re ordering. Unless you’re getting something obvious, you’ll have no idea what’s in a "LULU" or a "CHUG JUG." On a positive note, the interior is very nice. It's newly renovated, so it has a fresh, clean look and feel. As for the food, the first time I visited, I ordered two milkshakes, and they were TERRIBLE —basically just sugar milk. The second time, my wife and I tried the Snickers soft serve. It tasted okay but wasn’t anything special. The biggest disappointment, though, was the service. First of all this is the worst thing that could happen to the area, they are open very late and all day long it’s nothing but people with noisy cars outside at all hours, do you not realize that you are next to a residential building where elderly people live? Loud screaming outside at 2-3am in the morning and cars with very loud motors late at night when people are trying to sleep. You have no respect for the people that live in the buildings or areas..I’m going to contact the better business bureau because it’s horrible living next to this business it’s a joke they...
