Joy Garden — Restaurant in New York

Pretty standard local Chinese food. The menu boasts hundreds of dishes although I tend to stay with my usual orders. The counter guy is a quick and pleasant young man. The egg foo yung was a bit drab as it did not have enough flavor and the meat was scarce. The fried rice is always decent and reasonable in portions. The chicken wings are very tasty and are a stand alone menu item. The sauteed dishes are nor as filling as they should be and seasoning just doesn't make the mark. The lo mein is delicious, fragrant and embodies the right textures in a dish. The eggrolls are standard served nice and hot. Over all this place is the better of the 2 local Chinese...

I gave it two stars cuz the staff is very nice. However, although I do not expect 5 star cuisine, the food was low quality. The beef in the beef and broccoli was mostly gristle and my son could not chew it. Also, there is a plexi glass divider and you can see the cook using his bare hands to cook, portion food, etc. the place does not look like it would pass inspection. It does have low prices compared to other local restaurants. I only came cuz my regular spot is closed Mon & Tuesday. I will not return...

I have been going here for 19years, a few problems over the years but I change my reviews. I order the same food each time and for some reason this woman keeps mixing up my orders, eventhough I call each week with the same,she goes out of her way to repeat the wrong order.
