City Island Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in New York

Come here only if you're in a pinch, you're craving Chinese food and don't feel like getting off the island.

As far as fast food, take-out Chinese goes, they're not terrible or horrible, but neither does the food come off as tasting fresh or decent quality. Every time I try the chicken chow mein, it feels like snot is rolling over my tongue. It's just not the right consistency. The chicken tastes sub par and it's barely tender. The fried rice tastes ok, but the quality is spotty. Sometimes it tastes just fine, other times it tastes like hardened little pieces of rice with no flavor. The spring rolls have no crunch because the outer casing is spongy with grease and oil.

Omg a turtle 🐢is faster than this place, two days ago I went to City Island to buy food and I passed by this Chinese restaurant; I ordered 2 half fried chicken 🍗. I waited more than 30 minutes just for an order of fried chicken maybe because City Island is a town and people are layback lol But I cannot imagine if I would've had a large order If you go be willing to wait. This is my go to place for great Chinese food in City Island. I pop in here when I have business to do in the area. My favorite dish is simple - pork fried rice and chicken wings! The rice and chicken are never oily. The food is flavorful. There are plenty of other dishes on the menu, but I am quite happy with this one. The location is clean and the staff is very friendly. It looks like most of their business is take-away, but there are several tables available for a quick bite. It's worth the try if you are hanging...
