I've always wanted to go to City Island, a far-flung neighborhood of the Bronx that's a schlep from most parts of the rest of the city, especially if you rely on public transport. But we had the opportunity to drive there, and decided to go to CIYC for dinner. The staff were wonderful and welcoming from the moment we called to make a reservation. One wasn't needed, it turned out, but in booking it, we did secure a table with beautiful views of Pelham Bay, and the city on the horizon. The food was wonderful, and we're happy we ordered the new Mac & Cheese recipe the chef tried. We even learned a little about the local life from our server who was a proud "clam digger". The restaurant is open to the public, attire is casual, and parking is available.

City Island Yacht Club is our favorite place to spend time from May to October (during the sailing season). We moved our boat here a few years ago and can't imagine sailing out of any other club. The convenience factor, incredible community of friends and affordability is hard to beat. Nothing better than enjoying sunset and a meal with friends either on your boat or on the club porch, overlooking Manhattan -- it never gets old.

Very nice yacht club, the location is ideally suited for mooring off vessels, with a hauling area, floating style docks, launch service to ferry vessel owners to and from their moored off vessels, restaurant and bar facilities and also young masters training school for young kids to acquire the skill and art of sailing.

I am a social CIYC member, and go there frequently to Race on Eagle with Ernie Bivona, who used to be a club commodore few years back. Club is very well managed and attentive to club members needs, most of the members are "old boys" with years of experience sailing and owning the boats. Dinners after regatas are great, with members commenting on the race and having fun.. Facilities are aged but well maintained and adequate for racers and day racers. Great atmosphere and very friendly club. Great mooring field with easy and protected access. Lots of restaurants on the Island if you need more dining options ( I don't) ,Only complain I haver is commuting from NJ. But I love it. The restaurant is run by hired outside chefs, this year we have excellent one. Any issues with food are addressed right away and corrected. don't blame CIYC for chef having a bad day, if it repeats he will...

We came to City Island for the first time today when my girlfriends mother was visiting NY. It’s supposedly known for great seafood. We found city Island Yacht Club on google and the view looked great so we tried it out. Our food took over an hour. My fish and chips was so greasy it was practically transparent. Fish tasted awful. NOT FRESH. My companions burgers were over cooked and clearly frozen patties. This is college cafeteria food. Extremely low quality. They should be embarrassed to serve food like this. Some of the worst food I’ve ever paid for. Did I mention it...
