Dante's Pizzeria — Restaurant in New York

I ordered two different styles of pizza (Sicilian and Hand Tossed both of which were cheese only) from them late one night (a bit before they closed).

Both crusts were satisfyingly doughy (in a way that was also thoroughly baked), especially the Sicilian with its thick crust. The hand tossed had a distinct slight "pizza oven" flavor cooked into the bottom. It seems as though both are cooked in slightly different ways (which is pretty good attention to detail in a pizza place).

The sauce was nuanced and differed between the two styles. The Sicilian had a sweeter, more subtle sauce that had little whispers of tang and spice. The hand tossed had an extra bite to how tangy and spicy it was but the flavor seemed to dance around and shift as I ate.

The cheese on the Sicilian was stringy and gooey and blended perfectly with the style of the crust.

Overall it was a very, very good experience. Their delivery was very quick, their price was reasonable, their delivery driver was attentive and courteous, and the food was excellent. I would definitely order delivery from them again (especially since I ordered from GrubHub).

One particularly interesting note on the nuance of their flavor: it took my 2-3x as many bites to go through and really describe their flavor as it usually takes me. Well i moved a few years ago so i been ordering from one place of mediocre pizza. They never answer the phone either. Which forced me to try Dantes. Lets say i am extremely satisfied with the service and quality. The dough is thick and the pizza actually tastes good ( sausage and pepperoni). But what gives them a five star is they saved my dinner tonight. Im not feeling well and i needed dinner for the kids. When i told them my address they told me that they dont deliver this far but they went out their way and brought me my kids order anyway. After the nonsense i have been going through trying to get delivery to my location, this was definitely a pleasant experience. Everytime I order from Dante’s I am always thinking “man, I should really call down and compliment them on how good everything was.” Unfortunately, I always drop the 8 ball on that so here I am today writing a review. The last couple years I have been ordering food sporadically whether for dinner with my family or getting a party catered and I can genuinely say that the food is always fairly priced (I’d say less than what other pizza places generally charge) and also very consistent.
