Ambassador Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Newark

I am extremely devastated and LIVID about what I experienced TODAY (SATURDAY, APRIL 15, 2023 - CLINTON AVE. LOCATION)!!! I arrived at Ambassador to pick up an online order. Upon check-out, I saw something crawling on the bag. I told the cashier & she backed up (hmm) - but whatever it "was" rapidly disappeared, so I dismissed it as a fly, maybe - especially since it's been warm out. I walked out with my bag but had an inclination to check the food for accuracy when I reached the car, and LORD, A BIG ROACH CAME SCURRYING out of the bag of food! I AM DEVASTATED & I FEEL VIOLATED! I HAVEN'T SEEN A ROACH IN YEARS!! This ain't COMMON FOR ME!!! Their reaction to my complaint when I immediately returned was not what it should have been. No apologies, explanation or show of remorse - just blank. I did get my money back after one of the workers pretended to not know what happened although he was present the entire time! This was the absolute worst experience for me eating out.

It would be GREAT for you to shut your restaurant down for a few days and thoroughly INSPECT/BOMB/CLEAN IT OUT! You are doing a disservice to your community. Ok.. so hear me out. I came from outta town for work. Needed some good food. But im no boujie $!+(# ... I like me some good fried wings and soulful sides. So I ordered lemon pepper chicken tender and chicken wings( 2 pc.PC.. meh we'll get there). I also order a side of Mac NCheese cause it was poppin outside. I'm thinking "they must be bomb". I ordered online, food was ready in 10 minutes. When I walked in, the lady didn't come to the counter... I didn't even know she was sittin behind the desk, but I heard hello. Customer service is not their strong point. Paid, left... food smelled amazing. I got to my hotel, opened the wings and boom... they're tiny! But to compensate they gave me 3 wings. They were delicious, fresh and seasoned well...they came with mediocre fries. I was at this point excited for the tenders .. they were also excellent without Dippin sauce cause it wasn't offered... maybe on the salty side but cooked perfectly. So here it goes... I was okay until I ate the Mac N cheese. I had such high hopes. I ate one noodle picked it up with my finger and thought it tasted weird. May be it was sanitizer... washed my hands. Opened the Mac all the way ..uuughhhh spoiled sour blah. Moral: their chicken is good... their side dishes have been sitting around...

I love Ambassador buuuut the service on Superbowl Sunday was crazy and hectic!. I personally went in the restaurant early in the day to place my order for 4:15. I was told no problem everything will be fine. Well everything was not fine the order was not ready the place was in total Chaos! It was so many people trying to place large orders that as the chicken came out they were filling the smaller orders and I had to wait. I kept being told because my large order was not ready. I had to demand my food before another order went out because it was becoming ridiculous. I finally got my order and they have new takeout boxes they look cute but i don't like them.it wasn't secure enough to hold a large order also it steamed your Wings and took away the crispiness of the chicken. The aluminum pans kept the chicken crisp until ready to serve. Maybe they need to Re-evaluate that decision. My word of advice is never go to Ambassador if there is a special occasion/holiday.
