School theaters are way better than this place. I would recommend this as a last resort. The place is awful, first you would be seated at floor level, which sucks if you are not at the front row, 2nd the bathroom doors are to your left and to your right, so every time someone goes (and I'm telling you it's quite a few people a minute) they open the door and the brightest light comes out of the bathroom as if st. Peter is about to come out of there, is super distracting and annoying at the same time. and lastly they will rush you out of the theater like there is no tomorrow. The band was good, I'd give the quartet a 4 ⭐.

The event was very special. The venue and the set up was perfect for an intimate night of stories from such a dark complicated mind like Poe. The actors had such passion and feeling for their work. I am not a huge Poe fan but my wife IS and we both enjoyed this very much. The pairing of the drinks were a prefect mix. I would see this again and bring friends for the experience. The price point was perfect for the show and drinks. Your money is worth the experience

Newark Symphony Hall, located in Newark, NJ, is the state's oldest and largest arts and entertainment venue. Established in 1925 as the Salaam Temple, the hall features a striking façade with massive ionic columns and elegant interior designs influenced by Greek and Egyptian styles.

Visitors appreciate the hall's rich cultural history and its role in showcasing diverse performances. However, some reviews mention that certain areas show signs of wear, such as peeling paint and maintenance needs.

The staff is generally praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing to a positive experience during events. The venue offers a variety of performances, including concerts, theater productions, and community events, catering to a wide audience.

Overall, Newark Symphony Hall provides a unique and historic setting for cultural events, combining architectural grandeur with a commitment to diverse...

This place will sell you tickets that are not valid and give you hell to get your money back. Give you the run- around and checks that cannot be cashed, 3 months after the fact. The staff is rude and argues with the patron, even though their money has already been taken. The executive staff doesn't follow up with complaints. Also the executive director will not talk with you if you request him to do so. They do not answer the phone during the business hours that are posted to the public. If you request to use the restroom while waiting to enter the theatre for the show, they will tell you to go find one one the street/down the block. They will not allow you to use the restroom in the facility, even though you have waited in line for over 1 hour for a show that starts over an hour after it was scheduled. But hey... This this was just my experience. Maybe yours will...

First, let me say that I am a native Newarker, and I love Symphony Hall. This theater is a historic building and should be considered a landmark if it isn't. The place is beautiful inside, but the main theater needs major repairs & renovations done to the ceilings and the walls. The sound system is excellent, and the seats were comfortable. The entrance and the bathrooms were fine. It needs a major renovation and it needs to look nice and bright like the photograph. I heard the other room, the Terrence Ballroom (Hall), was renovated and looks beautiful. I look forward to the main concert hall being renovated as well. We need to keep some of our original architectural structures to keep the...
