Dairy Isle — Restaurant in Newark

0/10 for service. My family and I showed up Saturday night, 5/11/24, to get ice cream. My husband grew up in Newark and wanted to show our kids his favorite ice cream place. Coming from 45 mins away we got there at 8:58pm. Thinking they would be open longer than 9pm on a Saturday we didn’t check time (that’s our fault). When we got there and saw the sign my husband got out and asked the blonde worker if they were still taking orders she said yes so we got out of the car. We approached the window and the brunette worker said..AND I QUOTE “we close in 2 minutes, get what you’re gonna get and go”. I was in awe of the fact she said it and turned to my husband and told him “no, we are leaving”. I understand it was closing time, but we specifically asked if it was ok and was told yes. This would be a great place to go if it wasn't for the young rude disrespectful girls that they hire they have no idea what customer service is or how to speak to customers. For such a small and seemingly inconspicuous place, it really has a lot of great stuff to offer. Its menu is surprisingly large, all of it is fairly good, and of nice quality, from burgers, fries, onion rings, grilled cheese, and more. Best of all though, they always have some fantastic ice cream to buy, always my favorite thing to get there, ever since I was a kid.
